I have nothing good to say about this property in the least. The counter woman gave me the key envelope without the keys in it, she sent me to a smoking room when it was rqstd to be a non-smoking. The room was enmeshed in putrid thick smelling smoke about 20 years thick. I wouldn't EVEN think of taking off my shoes in the room. I found grime on the telephone receiver and between the push buttons when I called the desk for a new room. The counter girl insisted it was a non-smoking room, which was countered my the ash tray set on the bedside table. Then she told me to come down for new keys and if I would "bring the ash tray" down with me because it wasn't suppose to be there!!! Based on the low low cleaning standard on the water stained bathroom floors and tubs, I assumed that there was NO CLEANING CREW to bring the darn ash tray to her. I can't believe anyone would say that all they need is a bed and a bath room when it is clear that you would also be in the company of little friends in your bed at night in this place. Oh, and the busted up pool concrete surrounding the property also makes for an eyesore of unmeasurable demise. Not safe, no security guards on site at all. Good Luck will not be here with you on this trip if you even think of staying the night. Leaving was my course of action... because a non-smoking room would not have fixed its demise.

I'm not a fussy hotel guest. A "terrible" (1) rating from me means a cockroach and rat infested hell-hole surrounded by razor wire and the occasional gunfight. This hotel was NOT terrible by my low standards, but it was bad enough to get me to write a review.

I wanted a cheap bed in Las Vegas overnight for a morning flight out. On the plus side I got that much. The sheets were clean. The shower had hot water. The door had security locks. There was a refrigerator but no other amenity.

Most everything else was a negative. Worst were the heavy use of room deodorizer spray to cover up something (What?) and the open roll of toilet paper placed on the back of the toilet, both of which are potential health hazards, the former for allergy and chemical sensitivity, the latter from the point of view of spreading infection.

Then there was the room itself. It had way too much furniture in it, several pieces of which were covered with cigarette burns in my supposedly non-smoking room. The room bordered on depressing. There was a bit in the agreement you have to sign about NOT having guests in your room, this would lead me to surmise that they have regular problems with the guests' guests, tho there was no major disturbance while I was there.

the travel website would do well to drop this hotel from its list. The people who run the place just do NOT deserve a boost in business from the Internet.

  • A bed and a bathroom is sufficient

If you are looking for a glamous place to experience 'Vegas, this is not the place. However, if you want a simple motel that does not force you to maneuver through a crowded casino every time you walk out the door, this is the place.

The Travel Inn is the typical motel with doors that open up on the parking lot putting you immediately outside. If you have never been to 'Vegas, you would not realize how great that is.

It is located in the Latino section of the city. If you feel uncomfortable in less than upper middle class environments, you may not feel comfortable here. However, if a Latino city area does not bother you or, like myself, you feel comfortable in such neighborhoods the place is fine.

It is near a couple of fastfood restaurants, which are great places to have breakfast. There is a nearby chain store on the other side of a nearby intersection and you are a short bus ride from the strip. Rent a car and you are no more than 15 minutes from many of the strip casinos, all of which offer free parking as does the Travel Inn.

The Travel Inn is a great inexpensive alternative that allows you to visit Vegas on a budget and still enjoy the city. If you hate walking through crowded casinos just to get outside, it is also a great place to be. I have stayed at two other hotels on the strip. One no longer exists and the other did not impress me. When I return to Vegas, I will definitely consider returning to the Travel Inn.

One drawback, although there is cable, there is no internet.

Well, to be fair, I did not catch any of the bugs crawling on the carpet in the morning, could have been crickets. Alarm clock did not work, no wake up calls. Appeared most of the clientelle rented rooms by the quarter hour.
