  The good: Hotel presents a nice first impression. Lobby is nice. For my conference, they "comped" my self-service parking. Evening meals were available at the lobby bar. The bad: When I got to my room I could not breathe the air because of the strong mildew odor. I asked front desk for a fan blow in fresh air or at least some Lysol spray. The clerk told me, "Oh no, when that happens we have to change your room." Apparently the problem is so common there is a routine in place. The new room smelled even worse. We stayed in our original room, opened the window and used the luggage rack to prop open the door for cross ventilation. The desk clerk promised to send up some Lysol "right away," but it never arrived. Ventilating the room made it hot in the 90 degree weather during our stay, but at least we could breathe. I was there for a conference. Our 268 participants comfortably fit in one-third of the partitioned ball room. Many stayed at the same hotel. There is no breakfast buffet and the restaurant was totally unable to seat or serve the number of guests who tried to get breakfast. The first morning I arrived an hour before my meeting but had to go without breakfast. The next day I went down earlier. I got a seat, but was late to my meeting because the cook "forgot" my order.

  Hotel was conveniently located on the south side of the River, which was a great place for viewing the July 4 fireworks. I thought the price was good for the location, but... mishap after mishap at the hotel led me to believe otherwise. My parents went to the their room for the first time to find it had already been checked out to another traveler. The hotel realized the error, asked the other traveler to leave and asked my parents to take the room. The hotel didn't check the room before releasing it to my parents. We ordered dinner at the restaurant/bar. They forgot to prepare one meal, and after 10 minutes of waiting for the forgotten meal to arrive, my husband went to the bar to ask the bartender about the meal. The bartender was on the phone, and his food was sitting at the bar. Not their finest hour. They took 10% off the bill. Not even enough to cover the cost of the dinner, which my husband did not eat. All in all, we should have stayed elsewhere...
