This vacation was a great value. The resort was nice, very clean. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The drinks were good, and the food was pretty good as well. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. The bugs only bothered us in the early morning and at night, and only if you were standing still on the beach. Otherwise, we had no problems. Our only regret was not staying longer!

This was our 4th time to this resort, and although the resort and beach are beautiful, we will not return. The fleas this year were the worst I have ever seen. Normally they are just a problem when you are actually at the beach, but this time they were everywhere. They were crawling on us when we were sitting in the lobby, when we were at the casino, and the worst part was, they were in our bed!!! No amount of bug spray would keep them away! The morning we left, I counted my flea bites....I had seventy!! I know this can be a problem anywhere in Puerta Plata, but we spoke with other passengers on our way home, and they weren't bothered, so obviously other resorts are spraying or fumigating.

This was our 4th time to this resort, and although the resort and beach are beautiful, we will not return. The fleas this year were the worst I have ever seen. Normally they are just a problem when you are actually at the beach, but this time they were everywhere. The sand fleas were terrible, as were mosquitoes. The hotel sprayed for the bugs but they were still a problem. Keeping the air conditioner on helped. Other than that it is a beautiful hotel, beautiful location. relaxing, wonderful people working there. Be aware that some female guests preferred to sunbath topless. That was a new experience for me. It was nice to be able to walk on the beach, or site by the pool. They provide kyakes, paddle boats, sail boats, tennis, bicycles, miniature golf as part of your stay. There is a lot of variety at the dinners. A great place to go to get away from stress of everyday life, a place to relax and do nothing.

This is my second visit in 2 years. My first time was 2007 with a friend. I enjoyed it then gave it one thumbs up at the time. This year I took my family with me. 2008 I give it two thumbs up. The staff makes it wonderfull. I miss them and don't forget x. I will be back next year. My family cant get enough.
