For a Ritz Carlton, I was very disappointed! Our bathroom was full of red ants!! When we checked out, we were going to tell the desk clerk, however he thought it more important to make a phone call WHILE CHECKING US OUT. The location was wonderful, and the price reasonable, but would definately stay somewhere else on the next trip to New Orleans.

We have traveled extensively and stayed many times in Ritz hotels and timeshare units. We are used to the wonderful quality and service that the name Ritz stands for. The time we stayed there was in Jan. 2009 and unlike our first visit, which was just before Hurricane Katrina, this time the staff behaved inexcusably. They actually threatened one of our group when he complained about their seating policy and forced him into a dark corner of the bar behind curtains. When the situation was brought to the attention of the concierge and manager, nothing was done. I will never come close to this hotel again and have told all my friends about this treatment.

we booked a room with a king bed for our honeymoon night and when we got there at 3am, they gave us a room with 2 double beds even though our confirmation said king. Didn't tell us up front. We figured it out when we got to the room. They would not change it for us becausec they said they did not have any other rooms available, even after we said it was our honeymoon! But, right in front of us in line when we checked in, a family got 2 rooms with king beds and they did not even have reservations. Room was nice, but horrible customer service. might be better now since that was 4 years ago, but i will not risk it again!

what a horrible experience i usually do not write reviews but i am taking the time to let you know what an unbelievably horrid experience my wife and i had and believe me, we travel all over the world and usually stay at most of the four/five star hotels this was an exhausting trip, to say the least, because of this hotel's inability to live up to the ritz name. Rooms did not have coffee condiments, toiletries, etc - had to catch the maid or call housekeeping to get anything still, did not receive room amenities on a consistent basis the cd player was broken we found champagne corks under the tables (sticking out and in plain sight ? at least clean rooms, please) most of the time, when we would call to ask/complaint, could not get anyone to answer (front desk, housekeeping, etc ) so did without . The last few days we were there, we had scalding hot water in shower, sink & toilet, no cold water at all,- never heard of this toilet tank water was so hot, toilet seat stayed damp from condensation we found this out the hard way via the shower we could not shower morning or evenings and brushing teeth we had to use bottled water we tried calling to complaint but no one answered. Finally, the night before we were to leave as we were going out for the night, we stopped by the front desk to try to advise staff again, they said they had similar complaints in the past for rooms in our area. Wwhy did they put us in that room then the hotel was not full At that point, at 8:30 pm, they offered to move us or let us use another room to shower what kind of place are you running in new orleans? certainly not a luxury hotel. We always try to say at the ritz when we visit new orleans as we go several times a year; however, never again we can pay half the price and get better service This hotel should not be in operation - it has definitely turned us off to the Ritz chain Please reconsider staying here as there are so many wonderful hotels that could use your money and need it

My husband and I went to NOLA to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. Imagine our surprise when The Ritz Carlton showed up as an option for Travelocity. From the moment we arrived, our expectations were met & exceeded by the friendly, efficient staff. Check in was swift. Our room was clean & smoke-free. The room's decor was very nice, everything was clean. The bathroom was worthy of 5* (Carrara Marble & Kohler). The A/C system was so good that we didn't even hear it kick on and the room stayed amazingly comfortable 24/7. (or at least when we were there). Every staff member we encountered gave us a friendly, "how are you today?" "Are you having a nice time in our beautiful city?" OK, maybe a bit canned but nonetheless, genuine. Rudy the concierge was especially helpful and fun. He had great tips on where to get everything from hatboxes to 10 cent martinis (Bocca at lunch). The bar on the main floor was great for people-watching and the outdoor atrium patio was the perfect place to end the night under the stars. The Spa was beautiful. I had a wonderful manicure. To be in such elegant surroundings and then walk out onto Canal Street is such a venue change. As the hotel is located on the French Quarter, it was nice to have a security guard there at night when we returned....late. We've stayed elsewhere in this city, but from now on the Ritz Carlton is our first choice.
