Great place to stay for the value. If you are using this to stay for shuttle launches it's not bad at all. You do have a drive but it's not that bad and you can always crank up the 60's channel on XM or Sirius and get into the astronaut groove. For STS-129 there were other launch observers there including some folks from the Smithsonian. The only reason that I am giving room quality a good instead of an excellent is because it is not the Palazzo or the Venetian. It is excellent for the price though. There is a refrigerator that is a bit noisy but I unplugged it since I wasn't using it. It is near a shopping center but that means quiet nights. Also there's a small grove of trees between the back of the hotel and the parking lot. Rooms are nicely soundproofed. Very clean. Not ratty at all. Has the usual for this price, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, While you could smell the smokers in the hallway, the air in my room was smoke free. Breakfast: they have a waffle maker that a lot of people used. Hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, cereal. Both cereals, a corn flake and a cheerio knockoff were sugared. Yuchhh. Also had OJ and apple juice, coffee, milk. Did not try the pool though it looked fine.

I had never stayed at a La Quinta before and really didn't know what to expect. We really lucked out and our room was only a few feet from the pool, that was the first thing that impressed us. Plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ordered pizza from our room and it was delivered in 10 minutes!! Coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator in the room. Beds were very comfortable. WalMart was right next door, Target right across the street, a gas station and Starbucks right in front of the hotel. The zoo was less than a mile away and really, really good. I think I spent the whole three days saying, ""Wow"". I am going to start planning another trip for next year and will definitely stay at this hotel again, you can't go wrong.
