I wish I'd stayed somewhere else... I've stayed in alot of places that people might consider to be pretty bad hotels. Usually I figure that since I only need a place to sleep anything will be fine. I have to say that this place was the worst hotel I've stayed in, and that's by my non-existent standards. The outside of the place was really run down and seedy looking, the room smelled, and the beds were totally beat to death. The room was really dark and musty, and the bathroom had seen better days. The towels were really thin and itchy, and I wasn't even able to take a hot shower, the best i could muster was 'cool'. There was mold in the bathroom from the humid environment, and the fan made a lot of noise but didn't do anything to actually ventilate the room. I think that given the poor condition of this place the price was way out of line. I spent close to $** for a night, but I think half of that still would have been strong for this place. Plus they ended up double charging me and I'm still trying to get that straightened out.

I booked with this Days Inn motel based on past experience with this franchise. We booked this motel for one night because we were attending a Rays game. To my surprise, this particular motel did not live up to its name. Talk about a motel straight out of a horror flick. First the positive--staff were pleasant and nice. The smelly lobby as I checked in. The lobby was as musty as the rooms we booked. Upon walking into the room, the air conditioners were off intensifying the musty smell in the room. Although the rooms advertised as ""non-smoking"", the smell of cigarettes smacks you dead in the face as you enter the room. The rooms were dark so you could not see the dirty rug and sheets. When we requested extra towels, staff brought us damp towels just washed from the outside washing machine located by the parking lot. After peeking into the bathtub, a little critter greeted us. The room lacked the basic amenities expected in a motel room. We requested an ironing board and iron and received one of those portable college ironing boards that was dirty. There were cigarette burns on the pillow case and on a towel as well. The area felt unsafe as individuals were just hanging out outside of the rooms. The pictures on the internet are deceiving.

I've stayed here twice on two trips down to visit a college and then drop our son off. The motel is on a main strip. I booked a smoking room by accident, called to change through the website I booked through. When we arrived they indicated a smoking room. I indicated we had called to change, clerk said ok and then proceeded to give us a smoking room anyway. My feeling was that it was on purpose as one side of the motel was all smoking and that's the side she gave us a key for and directed us to. Maybe she spaced out... Sheets were washed to the point of rough lintballs, pillows were old to the point of shapeless, coffee in the morning had no milk offered, only creamer. The pool was clean, the flowers outside were plastic. Indian-run. If saving money is first on your list then there is nothing here to horrify you, but on a weekday night.
