Hotel Has Some Problems...

Scheduled hotel as part of family reunion cruise June 26-29, 2009 because it was economical and close to the Fort Lauderdale Airport (less than 5 minute drive). Stayed at hotel 5 years ago and had good impression, but hotel is under new management and has issues now. Hot continential breakfast is average, but during my stay the waffle maker buzzer didn't work. Their "business office" computer is in the dining area, and didn't have any virus protection for browsing the Internet. I actually was able to put the Firefox browser and SuperAntiSpyware on the PC myself...to help...PC user not supposed to be able to do this at a hotel...if they are maintaining the PC correctly. For a hotel near a cruise port, they didn't have enough night front desk staff to handle both calls and travelers coming in from airport or cruise port. Shower head had a hole in it in my room. Hotel cleaning staff looked like homeless people taken off street to work...didn't have a clean appearance and didn't greet hotel occupants. Hotel had a slight odor inside and outside building. Hotel can be good if Choice Hotel National Management comes in and evaluate current operations, but based on current operations I can't say I would stay there again or recommend others to stay there. Hotel is acceptable for quick get in - get out stay if on a budget.

I stayed overnight prior to cruise and really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful.........especially Dwight (?). The rooms were clean and he shuttle options was perfect. I highly recommend the hotel.

REALLY ENJOYED THE STAY AT THIS COMFORT SUITES. VERY CONVENIENT IF YOU ARE GOING ON A CRUISE. THEY OFFER FREE SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT AND CRUISE SHIP TERMINAL. THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL. THE ROOM VERY CLEAN AND FREE BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING. HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK IN 2008.
