  Read good and bad reviews about this hotel. Don't know why there were any bad ones, but our stay was great. Beautiful hotel and rooms were very clean. Large enough space for all four adults in my group and enough room for my grandson as well. Complimentary breakfast was good with waffles, bagels, muffins, boiled eggs and the usual cereal, toast, juice and coffee. Staff answered all of our questions about sightseeing and hotel information. Would definitely stay again.

  Second year in a row staying here for Jazz Fest. Last year it was great. They've made some changes, like enlarging the breakfast area by getting rid of the bar (too bad - the bar was a nice extra). The pool was closed for renovation this year which we didn't realize. Most disappointing was the housekeeping service. Very hit and miss. Had to call front desk numerous times for things that housekeeping forgot. When I mentioned this to the manager, he was unapologetic. On the upside, the hotel is very convenient to the quarter and the French market, and the rennovations looks great. Service just wasn't as good as last year.

  If you're looking for somewhere close to the quarter, this is a great deal... Valet was $23 bucks a day though, which sucks because the sign just says 23.00. Don't fall for that! The only other complaint I had was the internet in our room didn't work. Ohh... One more thing, the pool is on the 5th floor, not rooftop. The picture is a little misleading. But, trust me. I've stayed a LOT of places in New Orleans (and even used to live there) this place is 2-3 blocks from the quarter, in a central location (right off canal). Walking distance (EASY!) to Bourbon, the riverwalk, harrah's, aquarium, etc. You won't find anything better for the price. Staff was SUPER friendly, especially this one man who helped us with our luggage. The free breakfast isn't bad either, if you don't mind making your own waffles. We really enjoyed our stay and we'll be staying there again soon, I'm sure!

• Need to clean rooms

  I stayed for 6 nights and the room was only cleaned 3 of those, and that was only after asking for them to clean it. i had to call down ...

  I stayed for 6 nights and the room was only cleaned 3 of those, and that was only after asking for them to clean it. I had to call down 2 nights to get fresh towels for the next morning since it was never cleaned, the bed never made, and trash never emptied. I personally would not stay in this hotel again. I also was not the only one with a problem. I saw another room who put their dirty towels out in the hallway, and a friend that checked in and had to change their room 2 times because it was not cleaned when they sent him up to it. The only bonus is the location to the French Quarter, Bourbon St, and the river.
