On the outside Marco Polo Prince looks great. Centrally located in the middle of TST district in Hong Kong, surrounded by high end stores such as LV, Chanel, D&G, and various other stores. However, the rooms, for the US customers, are on the level of a mid-aged Doubletree. My first impression is that this is overpriced, but understandable for HK in Christmas. After check-in, things started to go down hill. The housekeeping staff does just a superficial job of cleaning things. The carpet is matted from old age, furniture is old, and the bathroom faucets leak (both tub and basin). In fact, there were algae growing on the bathroom counter due to the leaking faucet. One day, after returning from sight seeing/shopping, I return to find the housekeeping staff has left their plastic glove on the counter, and a dirty toilet seat. Their solution to the problem is to send staff in while we are in the room to fix the issue. Anywhere else I would have expected an offer to move us to another room instead of intruding on our stay to fix their own problems. My recommemndation? Avoid this place unless you can get a great deal and is not expecting much from the hotel.
