After a long but excellent visit to the UK we stayed at the Holiday Inn Gatwick in preparation for our flight home the next day. The Hotel was easy to find and was only 10 minutes to the airport. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the bed was slumping and should be replaced. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We ate in our room and enjoyed a quiet evening before our departure. Considering the costs of other hotels in the area this was affordable, especially for the local and the cleanliness. I will stay there for all future departures from the UK.

Room was OK, check in and out were adequate; restaurant wait staff were disinterested and had fine-tuned the skill of never looking at customers. One had to approach them and beg for service. Shuttle bus charges 2.5 Pounds each way for ride to/from nearby Gatwick terminals - not clearly described in Travel agency online description. The clear impression is that "no one is in charge" at this hotel. However, it was handy for quick overnight accommodation.

I needed a place to stay near the Gatwick airport to meet her at the airport early in the morning the day after I arrived. I chose this hotel because it was a familiar name, close by and had a shuttle to the airport. The staff was very helpful when I was trying to plan my day sightseeing alone. They told me of cost effective modes of transportation into London. It seemed to be cheaper to book the room from the US than from London. I tried once in London to book another night and the price was outrageous. All in all, it was the perfect hotel for my situation.

The advertising is misleading. Yes, it is located half mile from terminal, but there is no way to walk there. We booked trough *** to sleep during the flight overlay. We were in Gatwick at 0:30 am. Shuttle was not running during the night, because of the lack of staff we were told. They would not sent anything for us. Neither would they schedule a wake up call to the room. The taxi to the hotel around the corner costs $18.00 (with tips). In addition they tried to charge us the second time.
