Unfriendly to Americans in a bad location

The guide books are wrong about the neighborhood of Miraflores, especially in regard to this location, which was at least a cab ride away from anything worth doing. The hotel itself was attractive if you can ignore the high voltage electric fence and lack of air conditioning, but service throughout our three days was abysmal. From the check-in, to room service, to breakfast service, to returning during the day, and despite our greatest efforts and our ability to speak Spanish, we were treated like unwanted pests while simultaneously witnessing visitors from other countries treated respectfully. One night at 4am we were awoken by other visitors loudly fighting in the lobby for more than ten minutes before we called the front desk for them to do something about it. A simple order of two club sandwiches from room services took well over an hour when we needed to leave for the airport. We cut our vacation short by two days due to the overall attitude of the hotel and the poor state of Lima itself. Stay in San Isidro or Barranco instead, if you must stay in Lima at all.
