Upstream from the famous Huka falls, the Huka Lodge was started in the 1920s as a simple fishing lodge on the banks of the Waikato River.The hotel's cuisine features the freshest of New Zealand produce, and the dining venues are as varied as they are romantic. Choose from the wine cellar, trophy room, jetty pavilion, or beside the outdoor fireplaces to name just a few. The hotel was built in 1930, and remodeled in 2002.Comprising 20 lodge rooms and the superbly appointed owner cottage with accommodation for up to eight guests, the lodge offers spacious bedrooms that include their own separate dressing rooms and bathrooms.
