Beautiful condo in paradise. The room was clean and excellent location. Beautiful view of Lanai and Molokai from our balcony. Complete kitchen with washer and dryer in the room. No restuarant at this hotel, but grocery store is 2 minutes away, and plenty of restaurants around the area. 10 minute drive to Whaler's Village. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay at again.

The room was perfect. The staff was friendly. If you are looking for a relaxed simple place then this is the hotel for you. It is right on the beach. We saw rays every morning because of the coral reef. The room has everything you will need. We are coming back to stay again in March to see the whales. I can't wait!!!!!

We stayed at the Mahana for the first week of our 2 week honeymoon. The reviews we read were accurate. It looked like all rooms had an ocean view. It also looked like there was no other resort as close to the water. The noise of the waves helped me sleep at night and kept my wife awake. So, pick your poison. The lanai was awesome. We used it whenever we could, coffee in the morning, dinner at night, sunset, etc---plenty of space. The room was a studio. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. But, certainly adequate for two adults and it was laid out well, with new appliances and amenities. We never felt cramped. The staff was friendly. The outdoor grills were very convenient and clean. The pool is a little on the small side and can get crowded easily. There is no restaurant or lounge in the building. But, there is a price to pay for piece and quiet.

My wife and I booked a last-minute trip to Maui on a whim. I opted to book the Mahana rather than the other Aston properties in the area based on the reviews. I figured it would be worth the extra ~$* for a better hotel experience. When we got there, they had no record of our booking. Apparently, their booking folks don't work on the weekend, and so because I booked on a Saturday to arrive the next day, Sunday, their system hadn't been updated to include our reservation. After producing a print-out of my online travel website itinerary they were able to book us provisionally into a room until the booking agent could sort things out the next day, Monday. In the end, it turned out to be a non-issue, aside from the run-around at check-in. The big gotcha was that the online travel website, takes children under 2 into account when booking the hotel room. We booked a studio, which has a maximum occupancy of 2, INCLUDING CHILDREN UNDER 2. When we arrived, we were informed that we would have to upgrade to a 1-bedroom at additional cost. Had I known that when booking the room, I could have gotten the upgrade for less than $* a night. On site, it was ~$* a night, but they offered to drop it to ~$60 a night. Not a huge issue, but annoying nonetheless. The room was great, #117. Great kitchen with a full set of cooking and eating utensils. Great bathroom. The bed was so-so, and the pillows were terrible. We were on the ground floor, so we traded any shred of privacy for the ability to walk out the patio door onto the beach. The hotel is in a great location, and overall we were happy.

The location and views from the Mahana were execellent. Having the kitchen, washer/dryer and the BBQ's were great. It allowed for a toasted bagel and yogurt in the morning, a nice BBQ lunch when at the hotel. Staff was excellent and very helpful with local info that we requested. Only complaint if you could call it one was that our studio was a little out of date and could use a little remodel. That being said I would stay here again without hesitation.
