this was the last stop on a two week small group trip. The trip had been excellent to this point. The duck tape holding the carpet together should have been the first clue that this facilitiy needed work. The grounds were unmanaged with a great growth of weeds. This was a sad way to end a trip of lovely landscape and gardens. Thistle should be ashamed of itself.

As in the celebrated TV show, the room was good, and the staff--few of whom could speak intelligible English--seemed anxious to please, but handicapped by crashing computers and inexplicable absences. Bar features ear-splitting, 10-year-old disco. Best used by those who simply want to check in, sleep, and get out again, and don't require actual service.

Parking at this hotel is a nightmare. Make sure no one parks behind you and blocks you in. The heat was out in the restaurant, so we could not eat. The desk personnel were nice, but they would not answer the phone. Not at all a four star hotel.

At first, I hesitated in going in. Since it was paid for,and too late to change I did.It needs updating badly. Very worn. Customers and employees very good, but it needed maintenance, outside and inside. The bed and bedding were very good, food was poor. I would not stay there again, or ever recommend it.I would be concerned about Thistle Hotels after that.

Hotel is very rundown. Staff was new and untrained. Limited pub hours with very slow service (2hours for pub food). AC non-functional in our room, unavailable in a travel companion's standard room. Parking lot used as car park. Does not deserve 4 star rating!
