I normally do the booking of hotels and vacations, but I decided to have my wife book something for our two night stay for a trip to the Mayo for some tests. My wife said how does the Days Inn sound. They have a good price. In my mind I was thinking...hmm Days Inn, not great, but this is just a place to sleep, not a vacation. I said sure. We pulled up and I was like ohh no, we walked in and I was wondering if I should run or not. We then get into the elevator and to the hallway of our room and I was thinking, this is going to be an adventure! We open the room door and I just started laughing. It was quite laughable. TINY, Paint Peeling off, and just felt like I was doing something wrong by staying in this place. Also a used washed cloth hanging in the bathroom. The room was so small that you could only get off of the bed from one side, the other side was right up against the wall with the AC unit about a foot from your head and it was was loud. There was a USED w My wife can pretty much sleep standing up, but she could not even sleep here. I slept VERY little. The ONLY thing good I can say about this property is the location. Seriously, that is the ONLY thing I can say. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I felt like I needed to shower even after showering at this place, did not want to walk without sandles anywhere in the room, etc. It is now a running joke about our trip to the Mayo. We are returning in October and will not be staying here!

Pleasant staff, clean room although small. Old building with retrofitted bathroom, etc..reminded us of old hotels in Europe. Served our needs for a place to sleep overnight. Size and number of towels was skimpy, and staff didn't understand Wifi access (not free by our understanding).

The attached restaurant was outstanding in menu, service and price. This is an old hotel with old bathrooms, but they are functional, a few have whirlpool tubs. All had shower/tub combination. The furnishings are new and comfortable. Some rooms with only one bed were quite small and had only a desk chair and no easy chair. The two bed rooms (and King room) have nice comfortable easy chairs. Just across the street is tunnel access to Mayo Clinic, just two blocks away ... an easy and comfortable walk. We came to stay two days and ended up being here for a month. Would definitely return. The staff is great and all we needed is so readily available.

GREAT location if you are going to Mayo Clinic. You just walk across the street and enter the hospital where a wheel chair will be available. ALL STAFF is outstanding EXCEPT for the HATEFUL manager. He was rude and quite unfriendly at check-out. We had been quoted our room price with free parking during the entire stay. When we checked in, the free parking notation was in place, and we were given our free pass. The manager was very unfriendly and acted like we were crooks or something and were trying to scam him when we checked out . He held us while he checked the computer to find where it might say free parking. He told us to never book on-line. He most certainly needs to take a class on people skills!! This is an old hotel, but is very clean and comfortable. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The onsite restaurant had good food at a 10% discount if you are staying at the hotel. However, if you stay more than 2 weeks, you run out of different meal options. Washer and dryer and ice machine worked well. Free newspaper every morning. Elevator well lit and in good working order. Luggage pull on wheels was so helpful. The inn will lower room rate cost if you are staying when the rate drops. However, you need to check daily to make sure you get the discount. We stayed 12 days and had different rates. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is an excellent place to stay while going to Mayo Clinic!!!!!! I most certainly highly recommend it!!
