We like everything about it, expect for the unexpected fees. Five dollars to cover the extras (bottled water that we didn't drink; internet access and something else I can't remember). Doesn't sound like much, but then there was the * dollars to park. We could have parked free accross the street, but then we'd have to bring the luggage a long way and it was dark and we were tired. The hotel itself was very nice and the room was spacious. We stayed on an upper floor that had an open courtyard with tables and chairs and a barbeque. Wished we'd had time to enjoy it all. We were only there for the night, but I'd like to go back.

This was our second visit to the Hacienda and was better than the first. We stayed in the 500 building which had a terrific view of the area, pool & hot tub. The rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is courteous and the location couldn't be better. The hotel is sprawling so be prepared for some exercise but it's worth it. Old Town is right outside the door so there are plenty of restaurants, bars & shops to choose from and no driving necessary. The light rail is within walking distance too for travel into the city. The hotel restaurant is a little overpriced and slow so we usually went somewhere else. The hot tub & pool were excellent and the towel cart kept full. The hotel grounds are beautiful with lots of flowers, plants, fountains, etc - we really enjoy staying there.

I stayed at this hotel some 25 years ago but did not realize this until we arrived. By some of the reviews I was expecting it to be as it was 25 years ago. What a great suprise that it far surpassed our expectations. On the reservation site it asks for any requests that we may have. Upon check-in they read the requests and met all of them. They room we were assigned was very well decorated. This property is BIG so I am sure they have many different styles of rooms. Our was a very large room with probably a 14 foot ceiling. The bathroom was recently updated and very clean. I am taller so many showers hit my shoulders this shower had an extension that probably put it at 7 foot. The room even had a small wetbar area across from the coffee, microwave and small refridgerator. The common areas and grounds are nicely designed and give a feel of a closed in hacienda. All of the grounds were very well maintained and very tiddy and clean. With all the fountains, benches and tables you could expect something to show some wear or low maintaniance. None of that here. The location is fantastic. We almost stayed at one or two other properties. First they are not nearly as close to Old Town and right on the freeway. Hacienda is half a block from the main street and the nite life is right there. The Old Town historic area is two blocks We live 65 miles north (less than a hours drive) and will be going down to tinish some sites and great places to eat we missed. We will probably stay again at the Hacienda as it was such a great place to stay.

This hotel has started to fall apart over the last few years. The rooms are tired, the staff is either rude or ignorant and it is not a good deal for the money. Among other things we needed two keys, although both keys never seemed to work simultaneously which necessitated many long jouneys to the front desk. Parking is expensive and the early check out policy seemed unnecessarily onerous. Old Town is rapidly losing any charm it might have ever had as it seems that it includes only cheesey stores designed to separate tourists from their money. It also has more unappetizing ersatz-Mexican restaurants per square meter than any other place on earth. Save your money ... stay somewhere (anywhere) else.

Stayed in Oct 08. The staff was vacuous and with one exception remarkably unhelpful. Among other things ... Could not get a key to consistently work in the door which meant many long trips to the front desk. The remote control for the TV worked sporadically and the only advice they could give was push the buttons harder. This was typical of the condition of the property and the attitude of the staff. The meeting rooms were spartan and I particularly enjoyed it when the staff trooped through the room during our meeting to get tables for some other event from a closet. Old Town is cheesy at best and has the highest concentration of unappetizing faux Mexican Restaurants on the planet. For this kind of money you can do better.
