Shell island ferry's are offered there for free and that alone was worth all my money. Shell island was awesome and I got burnt. There private beach that you can walk to is nasty because it is on the bay with stagnent water. There dock and small pier were really cool. The room was pretty nice and during spring break there were'nt any crazy college kids which was nice. The pools were awesome and they had good sun for tanning. I loved it . The only reason I would stay again would be shell island. It is close to some really nice and non-crowded public beaches. Shell island was so awesome but WEAR SUNSCREEN! It is like a secret deserted island at sea. We found awesome shells and an antique machete. I loved it!!!!!!

My wife and I booked a quick trip in June of '08...we booked this hotel and I was intially turned off at the thought of it being in the bay and not on the beach...i assumed we would have to do some major traveling to get to any major beach and the best we would get at the hotel was a nice pool. I WAS VERY SURPRISED!!! we had a great room in the golf villas ...clean very comfortable...we didn't want to get out of bed in the mornings...very nice pools and spas...the staff were very friendly and we loved the reasturant on the docks in the bay( Limey's I think was the name)...the daily FREE BOAT ride to shell island was great...it made the whole stay perfect...the beaches were amazing and tucked away from major traffic or tourist...the closest person to us on the beach was 50 yards. The jet ski excursions are a must to complete the stay...we experienced all kind of wildlife while we were out with our guide...dolphins, large schools of fish, stingrays jumpin up out of the water...best stay we have had in PCB!!!!! WE ARE GOING BACK we just booked again for June '09.

My son (6 years old) and I spent a week here. Initially, I was upset because the beach is truly a joke. First, you have to walk half a mile to get there. The water is very very shallow but it doesn't really matter because no one in their right mind would get in the water. Seaweed 8-10 inches deep covers the bay floor. We later discovered the complimentary boat ride to Shell Island, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We had miles of beautiful untouched beach almost to ourselves. We had a great time fishing almost every evening off the dock. The pools were great. Rooms were clean. The jet ski dolphin excursion was a blast! Limes, the restaurant on the boardwalk, was a big hit. They had live music a couple of the evenings we were there. Great food and a really friendly staff. My son really latched on to a couple of the waitresses. Breakfast buffet at the Kingfish was good but a little pricey for breakfast ($14 if I remember correctly). 30 Degree Blue was really nice and had great food?. not really an atmosphere for a 6 year old. Adults will enjoy it. This resort is really spread out with lots of space to take walks and to get away. We never felt crowded. It?s not the fanciest place in the world but a very beautiful, relaxing resort with a staff that was constantly trying to make our stay even more pleasant. My son says it was the best week of his life!

  • The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything!

The staff were terrific, our stay was awesome. The location was so peaceful and beautiful, just what we expected. We were out of town and the staff was so helpful in recommendations and directions to different sights. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel or nicer staff. The restaurants, hotel rooms, everything was just perfect! We'd love to go back!

We stayed at Bay Pointe Marriott for our anniversary. I called the conceirge twice to inquire about the amenities in the room & activities. I specifically requested and paid for a BAY FRONT ROOM with King bed. Upon check in I was told that I was "upgraded" to a 1 bedroom golf villa that was no where near the bay or a swimming pool. I explained that I made my reservation more than a month in advance. I was then told we "could have" a bay front with double beds. I reiterated my request and told that I would need to wait until 4pm to check in or they would call me on my cellphone.
Well...my "Bay Front" room faced another building ! You had to stand on the Lanai and turn 90 degrees to view the bay ( through a bunch of trees ). The room was disgusting...mold growing on the grout in the shower, stains on the carpet, the furniture and fixtures were in very poor repair. Someone else even said that there was a hold in their wall....our room had a hole in the ceiling !!
The "white sand beach" is a joke. Yes, the sand is white, but there is so much seaweed that kids will NOT go in the water. The pools were beautiful...especially those behing the Marriott timeshare. When I spoke with the conceirge they grossly over exaggerate the beach. I also asked about tennis. The courts looked nice, but at $10 per hour PER PERSON ( not court ) we decided against playing. After paying almost $150 for a nasty room, the lease they could have done is thrown in tennis.
I was very disappointed and cannot believe this "resort" has the Marriott name on it.
