On a Thursday night I figured I was safe staying at a trendy place in the Gaslight district. I was wrong. The front desk took ~30 minutes to check me in (I was the only one there). After 15 minutes of small talk, I just stood around while the clerk typed. I was in SD on business so I needed a good nights rest. I tried to go to sleep around 11pm for a 7am client meeting. I really thought the music from club 207 (the club in the base of the hotel) would have subsided. I am apparently naive to club life and who Hard Rock's target audience is. I was on the 4th floor and the music was literally vibrating my bed. I called down to ask how long the music was going to continue, the staff said 1:30am (unapologetically). I asked if there was anything they could do, they said they'd send up ear plugs. Around 12:300, a guy in a dirt green jumpsuit bangs on my doors and says "Engineering". When I open up, he literally dumps a handful of earplugs into my outstretched hand and says "have a good one man". I will be staying far away from the Hard Rock next time I find myself in San Diego.

If you want a hip party hotel this is the place for you. It has 2 night clubs in it and they get wild and crazy on weekends. The spa was excellent! The first 2 nights we stayed in a regular 2 bed room but they're pretty small and not accomidating for 4 women so we upgraded to a sweet which was awesome. Great balcony. The hotel is located right at the entrance to the Gaslamp so it's within walking distance of all the great restaurants and shops/mall. You can also walk to Seaport Village which is so beautiful and is a great walk along the water. Excellent seafood restaurants. Highly recommend "Fish Market" for a wonderful seafood restuarant near USS Midway.

I would recommend a stay at this hotel. the location right at the Gaslamp District was very convenient. on the positive, the staff is very responsive to guests. we had a problem with one of the tv's in our room and on a Saturday, staff came to our room within 20 minutes. the only negative comment I would make this that several ammenities could be improved. 1. complementary coffee is only served from 5:30 am to 6:30 am. 2. there is $17.00 per day charge for WiFi. the hotel is a hot spot on weekends so watching the locals and quests is quite entertaining!

The first time I stopped in San Diego and saw this hotel, I knew I just had to stay here the next time I was in town. From the moment you walk in, you feel like a rockstar. Nice modern decor, memorabilia everywhere, and awesome lyrical quotes everywhere. The rooms were nice and beds were comfy. There are two clubs at this hotel which you get VIP access if you are a guest. Be warned, that if you have a room overlooking the pool, there is a roof top bar that has loud music at night. That didn't stop me from sleeping though. I recommend this hotel if you are looking to have a good time.

My stay was very nice, with the exception of the workings of the tv, which I had to request service on 3 times because tv would not work until it was reset by staff. Trip was to attend at sporting event and I was hoping to keep up on pre-game news and other games, only having to wait for service on cable tv. The service was prompt and curtious, but interupted my stay somewhat.
