Need to hire more staff and train them in customer service. Especially the maid
04/02/2013Overpriced rooms and nonexistent service are what the w specializes in. maid would show up to he room at 530pm and another night at 8pm to clean the room!!!

Everything about our stay was absolutely amazing from the property to the room to the staff. We had travel dealys and headaches and when we entered our room we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries.I don't have one complaint!!

The W is definitely focused toward 20 somethings to 30s/40s. I've read some bad reviews saying the hotel is like a club. There are parts that are dimly lit, like the lobby and the indoor part of the (amazing) restaurant. However, the rooms are bright and inviting. The beds...SO comfortable. I was in Florida and I wanted to sleep in the bed all day! The pool was great...awesome setting for pictures. The pool area does get a weird wind draft so sometimes it's too cold to be in the pool but you can just sit at the bar and eat delicious chips and salsa/salads. The food was awesome. The service was great, the employees always brightened my mood. They will greet you with a smile no matter how early or late it is. Very helpful and genuine. We had a tour of a suite by an intern there...he was so passionate about the W hotel. He had moved from Mexico to specifically work at the W Ft Lauderdale. We had a great conversation with him. I was in a happy, relaxed mood my entire trip. I will definitely come back soon! Great, GREAT hotel.

This Trip we were blown away. I have stayed there twice in the past 30 days and The W is a hotel i will try and stay at when ever possible. Im sure you can find something to nit pick about.. I have read a few of "the bad" reviews and can honestly say that i dont agree with any of them. This trip we were upgraded to a Full Ocean View High Floor with Terrace. We were given a Late Check out and a courtesy suite the night we were flying out to freshen up in. Every single W employee greeted us with a Good Morning, Afternoon Etc. Parking is a bit steep but for the speedy and friendly Valet service its actually worth it. Its Clean, Modern, Friendly to all atmosphere is why i will return to the W brand when ever possible.

we checked in and the room they put us in we unexceptable - we where told to hold while they checked for other rooms - we waited for 20 minutes and no one came back to the phone. we trucked our luggage back to the lobby and there was no effort to address our issue. A total of 40 minutes to get us a room at 9:00 at night. No manage on staff to speak to and the rest of the stay was a total disappointment. The place is under staffed and poorly managed.
