The hotel location is perfect, at the beginning we took the Metro from and for any of the two stations close to the hotel, but after 4 or 5 days we realized that most of the museums and restaurants we visited were only 3 or 4 blocks more than the distance we walked to and from the Metro stations. We walked most of the time to the hotel, and discovered a lot of interesting places along the way. The neighborhood is safe to walk at day and night. With convenient stores and CVS Pharmacy close by. Also the breakfast is worth mentioning. I was surprised by the variety of good food and by the way they keep it bringing new supply constantly. We spent 10 evenings in the hotel, ate 10 breakfast, were 4 adults (had two rooms) and always had something different, always found clean and available tables for 4, eggs, scrambled or boiled, waffles, toast, butter, jam, bacon or ham, baggles, cream cheese, variety of cereals, fruit, milk, coffee, juices, yogurt, just perfect.

For a budget stay close to the Verizon center, I usually stay at the Red Roof inn as its closer and has a pretty decent bar and grill for after event activities. This hotel is a quick 1 mi or less walk which was refreshing after the concert we attended. I'd recommend eating near the Verizon center/Chinatown before going back to the hotel. One thing that stood out was the probably the best pillows I have ever slept on! Better than Hilton and Grand Hyatts! Great shower, too.The breakfast downstairs is pretty good too, which is good since there is no Starbucks close or a decent diner that I saw. Friendly front desk.
