I had the best experience at the Tremont. The staff were welcoming and friendly especially Alejandro and Deana who were especially nice. The hotel is located in a prime location a couple of blocks from the theater we booked and Michigan Ave. where we went shopping and had access to the trains and water taxis. I can't complain. We had coffee at the Starbucks right accross the street from the hotel and wonderful restaurants abound directly within walking distance. The hotel is nicely furnished and the bedding is fantastic. The rooms are clean and spacious. Overall I rate this hotel an A++.

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. There were two days where we had to share a towel because the hotel didn't have any cleans ones. There was mold on the shower walls. The bathroom fan was falling down. The ceiling was black in many spots, it was in desperate need of a paint job. There was no view from our room. Way too expensive for what you get. I have done a lot of travelling and usually stay in hostels. Most of the hostels I have been to were in better condition!

I read other reviews that said the hotel was quaint etc. It is not quaint... it is a dump. The front desk was a mess, brochures and boxes scatterd everywhere. Drawers were openned and the fronts falling off. The carpet was stained. The elevators were disgusting, unless you think scratched, chipped, broken wood is lovely than you may like it. The room looked like it was furnished from either left over college furniture, garage sale or at best Goodwill. Also most reviews said the location was perfect. It is a good location but there are dozens, if not hundreds of hotels in the very same area that are much nicer and roughly the same price. A dump. Would NEVER go back!

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. All the staff from the valet outside to the housekeeping staff greeted you with a smile and kind word. Everyone there was very very friendly and helpful. Also they were willing to store my bags for me when i got there and mu room wasn't ready as well as when I was ready to leave on a flight that was a few hours after check-out time. I would recommend that anyone going to Chicago and wanting to stay downtown and/or near The Magnificent Mile stay here. The only issue I had was that there was construction out of my window so i didn't have the best of view, which is no fault of the hotel.
