This was our second time at this particular location. My wife and I love Westin's because of the service. On this particular visit, it was about average. The service and room cleanliness didn't stand out as "above and beyond" as it normally does - only about average for a Westin. The location is great if want to stay around Times Square. Convenient to resturants, shops, theaters and tour buses. Traffic noise is constant 24hrs a day though.

We stayed here to celebrate a big birthday and to watch the Macy's parade. We were greeted by a rude front desk worked who was very upset when I showed him my paper that said we had a room with 2 double beds and he had us booked in a king size bed room. That would not work for 4 people. He got mad and said that he needed to speak to his manager to see if they could change our reservation. I was on crutches and we could not believe how long we had to wait for him to come back. The room had many things wrong with it including the threshold that went in between the tile and carpet was broke in the middle and stuck up. My husband tripped on it many times. We finally called down and asked them to fix it. It was missing trim in the hallway and the room was never cleaned well (bathroom especially dirty.) I should have taken pictures to show them. I was very disappointed for the money that we paid to have a subpar room and rude staff. I can not tell you how many times the front desk and concierge was rude and/or not helpful. So disappointed for our first trip to NYC. The elevators were fast and the location was awesome for the hotel!

We upgraded when we arrived to a room on the 43rd floor that came with free internet. It was worth it because I think that high up, we had fewer neighbors, and noise was definitely an issue here. Other than the noise of neighbors, I have no complaints. This hotel was very close to Times Square, so we were able to get out and walk to everything we wanted. The beds were great, the bathroom nice, the room spacious enough and we had a lovely view of the water. Everything felt clean, comfortable, and high class. As with all things in NYC, food on the premesis was very expensive. But there were plenty of choices. We were across the street from deli with tons of great food and snacks to choose from, and down the street from a little cafe, a pretzel bakery, and a pizza place. Great location and nice room. Recommended.

08/10/2012Internet was $10 a day which was frustrating, especially because of what we paid for the hotel. the only noise was street noise which you can not avoid in nyc.
