My siblings and I took my mother to NOLA foe her 75th birthday and wanted to stay somewhere that had an authentic New Orleans feel, quiet, but in the Quarter so we could walk to most places we wanted to go. The Monteleone was perfect, the rooms were clean and attractive, updated and the beds were very comfortable. The Carousel Bar was a treat. We were one block from Bourbon street, just far enough to avoid the noise. The staff was pleasant and the concierge was helpful. My mother said the trip exceeded her expectations and she thought the hotel was lovely and in a great location and everyone in our group agreed and believe me they aren't any easy to please group. Stay at the Monteleone, you'll love it!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 enjoyable nights in the French Quarters! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside the lobby and in the rooms were nicely decorated. The beds were a little too soft for me, but no big deal. Staff take great pride in greeting hotel guests and making sure that you are comfortable. We did enjoy the complimentary breakfast while there. The pool and gym is located on the roof depending which side/tower of the hotel you're staying in. You do NOT need to rent a car at all, save yourself the cost of hotel parking fees, etc. Everything is literally walking distance from this hotel. If not, catch the trolley to other parts of the French Quarters. If you're going to sight-see, you should know that many attractions close at 5 or 6 p.m. and are only open Monday through Saturday. Depending how many attractions you're going to visit, it might be worth you buying the New Orleans Power Pass (Visiticket.com) to save you some money. So, research where you'd like to visit then get out there and have a great time in NOLA! We sure did! :)

This is a nice looking hotel and it is well located on an attractive street for shopping. When we arrived the night manager Chrystal could not access our luggage that we had sent ahead as it was locked up -they said they had to wait for someone with a key in the morning. No further efforts were made to get our luggage out that evening and they did absolutely nothing for us given this major inconvenience and were quite rude about it. Good luck if you would like to find the rooftop pool as directions given are vague, although, if you find it, it is attractive. The morning breakfast included while renovation is underway was good but some servers were a little snippy the morning I wanted to get muffins and coffee to go. It is a good looking hotel but service is low for the star rating. Its also not very handicapped friendly as all entrances into the lobby had stairs.
