the first day we arrived at the hotel the bathtub was completely cloged (you wander when was the last time it was cleaned so they did not noticed it) the second day we had to change the room as it was a leakage somewhere , and when you go for a week vacation you have a lot of stuff to move the third day although we left the hotel room at 9 and came back at 5 pm, the room was still not fixed and we had to wait until finished during the stay one of the elevators was not working and the personel did not care to leave the customers take the elevator first (except the manager who happened to be there noticed it and ask them to elevators, I dont think I will ever go back to that hotel

Our second visit to Dauphine Orleans was close to perfect. The checkin and front desk staff were freindly and professional. The continental breakfast and surrondings were elegant. It was evident the hotel and been renovated recently as the photos from the room were missing. The staff there were friendly, very helpful and conscientous. Our room was spacious and confortable. The housekeeping staff did a good job and were also accomodating and friendly. We had drinks in the bar twice and the atmosphere was relaxing and friendly with very good appetizers. The hotel and grounds were well kept and all staff were very freindly and helpful. The attempts to correct the wifi problem in our room were not successful, but the computer at the reception desk was excellent.

My wife, daugher and I stayed in the Daupine in mid Aug. '08, the week before Gustav. We found it to be a very nice hotel right in the heart of the French Qtr. Easy walks to IMAX and the aquarium as well as the French Market. Breakfast should have been ample for almost any taste. You are 1 block off of Bourbon St. Parking is at a premium. Be prepared to pay extra to pay extra for that service. I will definite consider staying at the Dauphine when I return to New Orleans.
