I loved being right in the center of the French Quarter, in a safe and clean hotel, with curteous and helpful staff, a convenient computer and printer in the lobby, a classy room and a comfy bed. We never heard noise from other rooms. We slept late with no disturbances. I want to go back today!

The room was very comfortable and clean. I've paid much more for a hotel of this high quality in the French Quarter. The staff was very friendly. The location was convenient and historical. I was thrilled to be eating a delicious breakfast in the very structure where John James Audabon painted many of his Birds of America paintings. I enjoyed the opportunity to view many of his large prints. I immediately recommended it a friend who was going soon after I got back.

I really enjoyed the Dauphine for the type of trip I was on. I was in my hotel very little and the location couldn't be beat. Wonderful courtyard w/pool and decent bar with a nice continental breakfast. Our TV did turn unexplainably in the middle of the night each night we were there...we were lead to believe it was a ghost. Fine by me! I would probably look for something more if I was in New Orleans to simply relax at my hotel.

The Dauphine is a nice hotel, room was fine, staff was helpful. It is located in the french quarter and pretty much within walking distance to almost everything. The french market and decatur street areas of the quarter are a bit of a hike, but you should stay closer to that area if your trip is going to focus on that side of the quarter. Still bourbon street and canal were quick walks and there was plenty to do in the immediate area. The breakfast was ok, and just ok so you might want to eat that meal in a restaurant, of which in the area there are no shortages. All in all a good value, very decent hotel.
