The main desk and concierge services were warm and sincere but were not able to answer questions about public transportation. The more important issues re this hotel are plumbing problems. The drains in the free standing shower areas did not drain adequately in our room or the two rooms occupied by my cousins . One of these cousins had a problem with the toilet plumbing and was told this happened because the pipes were old. These are health issues. On the plus side for service, when there was a blackout during our stay the front desk removed the charges for 5 breakfasts at the buffet because there was no hot food available.

I was generally happy with the hotel, it had a good location andthe room (a corner room with a private, albeit small, balcony, had a great view. Two problems. 1. The hotel restaurant was poor quality and the room service meal was barely edible. Second, power in the hotel failed (just in the hotel) on the day we were checking out and we had to climb 13 floors to our room and carry our luggage back down 13 floors.

Stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary. The initial room we were given had no way to control the temperature even though there was a thermostat. So we were upgraded FREE of charge to one of their nicest rooms. The room faced the street so it was pretty noisy. I'm assuming because of the long picturest window that extended across the entire room. Luckily we are pretty heavy sleepers. Perhaps we would not have encountered the same problem, had we had the same room only facing the garden. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hugh jetted bathtub, used it every night after a long day of touring the city. Overall we enjoyed the stay at this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel 1 night. Picked it because of its location. Close to the Fillmore Auditorium. The Hotel is quite the spectacle for the eyes. Tons of Japanese themes decorations throughout. The koi pond and rock garden are particularly beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. I highly recommend the whirlpool soaking tub in the bathroom. Excellent for relaxing in. My only complaint was the bed. I was excited to see it was a sleep number bed with duel controls for either side. Unfortunately the bed was broke and set to 100 so it was like sleeping on plywood. Other than that a very enjoyable hotel experience.
