Nice but noisy

The hotel is not bad. Small rooms, small pillows and bed a bit uncomfortable. Our room faced the street and was hard sleep due to loud patrons of Gaslamp bars. Also, the air conditioner was old and noisy. Breakfast was nice with a lot of options. Parking on an uncovered lot a few blocks away made me uneasy. As did easy access to hotel - you can walk right in, right past front desk without being looked at.

Everything was nice and clean but the bed was very small and uncomfortable. The location was great. Walking to shops and restaurants was easy. Parking was $18/nt. The lot didn't hold a lot of cars so if it was full you were out of luck. Besides there being limited spots, the spaces were tight and it wasn't easy to get in or out.

The room was small, but all the essentials were accessible- micro, fridge, sink, desk and wifi. The hotel is in a busy neighborhood with street and local bar noise, but is an easy walk to explore all of the Gaslamp and convention center area and feels safe. Staff are friendly and helpful, but forgetful- forgot to call for a wake-up call. Many excellent and wonderful ethnic places to eat nearby with both high end and easy budget tasty food. Trolley and #7 bus are several blocks away, but nice walk and then good access to Old Town or Balboa Park on these public transit options. The shuttle pick-up to/from airport was smooth and easy. I've stayed twice and felt well taken care of and in close to any of my choices for activities.

We have a wonderful stay here! The desk staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. The waffles with fruit and whipped cream was a nice touch. The location is within walking distance of downtown restaurants, shopping, Baboa Park, the baseball stadium, the convention center, and the Zoo. I would highly recommend the Italian restaurant next to this hotel! All Comfort Inns should be run as well as this one.
