We got a great rate on a really nice room, more like a suite, with two big TV's and a king size bed. We were very happy! The location is really excellent, right between the FQ and the CBD, near the streetcars and buses, so you get the best of both worlds. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We are planning to book at this hotel again, soon.

This hotel apparantly changed hands from Iberville to a Marriott Courtyard as we arrived. I mean they were literally putting up the sign as our taxi arrived. Entrance is on ground level with an elevator to the 2nd floor for registration. No signage and no staff on the ground level made our arrival more difficult. There was staff on duty when we checked out. Registration was fast and our associate seemed knowledgable. She gave hotel details and noted the complimentary breakfast and the hours. This comp was listed as an amenty when I made the reservation. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning, we were told they no longer provided this amenity. When I questioned the operations manager later, she said they had never offered this comp. Our room appeared clean with the exception of a couple ants that I noticed in the bathroom. I didn't notify the desk because I didn't want any spraying done, nor would I let a couple ants bother me enough to change the room. Another thing about the bathroom...the door is a sliding-style barn door that hangs from hardware rail mounted outside, overtop of the door. The bottom of the door has a track about 3 inches long at the edge of the door. After using the bathroom, I attempted to slide back the door only to find that in shutting the door, it had jumped the track and was off the header. It was a solid, heavy wooden door. There was no hand-hold as it was mounted outside the frame. I was very fortunate that my husband was in the room and able to lift the door out of the way and put it back on its glider. Surprise...no phone in the bathroom. I brought a box of chocolates into the room, had a few and placed the box on the chest of drawers. When I went back for another piece later that day, the box was full of ants. Thoroughly annoyed, I crawled into bed for a nap and was not alone...ants there too. I called down to the desk and told the story and requested a room change. They would have to send a maintenance engineer to see the ants BEFORE I could be changed. He would be up immediately. After 1/2 hour, I called again. Again told my story to the operations manager and requested a room change. I was told the maintenance engineer was doing other things but was on his way and they would change my room. I would get a call back with the new number. The maintenance engineer arrived and confirmed the ants in the chocolates, dead ants in the bed and ants in the bathroom. He left, I'm still waiting for the new room assignment. Get a call from the ops mgr and surprise...no rooms available as the hotel is fullty booked. While I was speaking on the phone with the ops mgr my husband went down to her desk. When he arrived, she told me he arrived and did I want her to talk to me or him. I said she could finish with. The result was that she could do nothing for me other than offer me a free breakfast, as if I would sleep with bugs crawling on me for a free br4eakfast. There was nothing else she could do. I hung up. My husband stayed and spoke to her, and another surprise...we were moved to the Ritz Carlton for the night. It was upsetting to have the problems but it was more upsetting that the ops mgr was able to fix the problem for a man but not for another woman. Thanks for reading while I vented. I feel better.

The Iberville Suites was a nice place. The rooms were comfortable, clean and fairly quiet. It was close to the French Quarter. The hotel is chopped up and you have to take an elevtor to the lobby and another one to the rooms. There was no outside courtyard which would have been enjoyable. The staff was not overly friendly and room service did not leave amenities each day.
