Excellent Stay even though I had to pay for the internet.
01/17/2013The room was a good size and beds were comfortable. there was no free internet and that was unexpected for our room that was an upgrade to a suite.

From the moment I checked in, everyone at this hotel seemed to go out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for my purpose. The rate was outstanding. The room was well very clean and well equipped. I intend to stay here again in the very near future.

In all honesty I must rate the hotel as fair for the price.

For the price there was no continental breakfast and no free internet. I was given a handicapped room and I don't know why because I did not request it. Also we wanted all our rooms on the same floor and that did not happen. The charge of $31+ dollars a day for parking is high. The St. Gregory would not be my first recommendation to other visitors to Washington, D.C.

The hotel is about on par with the average Courtyard by Marriott - if the Courtyard is older and hasn't been renovated in years. There's really nothing luxurious about it at all despite the hotel's claims. The room was oddly laid out with a TV in the closet and everything just looked tired. Valet parking is the only option, but when I tried to have my car parked I was told the garage was full and to go park at a Marriott about four blocks away. The lobby is cramped and the hotel staff was neither inattentive nor overly helpful. Just the minimum required service. You won't have a horrible experience staying here, but don't expect a really nice luxury hotel. It's just an average hotel pretending to be something it clearly is not.
