Excellent location. Across from train station, all the trolleys begin their routes in same area so you can get anywhere in the city easily. Very easy walking to many of the major sites from the hotel. Lots of inexpensive, good places to eat. We didn't eat in the hotel, too pricey. Concierge services excellent. We got our museum tickets at the hotel - no service fees - and walked into all the museums without waiting in line. A great service.
A pleasant and convenient hotel.11/15/2011

I've stayed at the Park Plaza on most of my visits to Amsterdam. The proximity to the train station, the canal boats and most of the sights of Amsterdam make it an ideal location. The buffet breakfast is excellent and not too pricey, even for those on a budget. The staff is very professional and helpful. The pool is not spectacular, but a refreshing convenience nonetheless. Surprising in this day and age, the internet access is only through an ethernet cable, which makes it relatively inconvenient. How quiet your room is depends on whether you choose the older front section (noisier if the windows are open) or the newer "garden section".
We were pleasantly surprised.09/20/2011

The Hotel was very centrally located, about a 15 minute ride by taxi from the airport. We walked across the street to catch our train to Germany. The food included for breakfast was good, and the room was nicely furnished with antique looking furniture and the bedding was clean and fresh. The bathroom had been updated recently and the hotel staff all spoke english and understood english very well.We could walk to the Red Light District in about 5 minutes and catch a boat for a ride down the canal right across the street. Shopping and good resturants all around us in all directions. We stayed at 4 other hotels across Europe and this was by far the best for our dollar. Great Hotel!!!
A wonderful hotel close to all attractions and transportation08/06/2011

The hotel concierge took time to mark a map with all the areas of interest in Amsterdam and tell us a little about each. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the hotel was very clean with larger rooms than we had expected. The hotel also had a good and relatively inexpensive restaurant. It was a great place to stay

We stayed there 5 days and I initially requested a smoking room and when they didn't have one I was upgraded for free for the remaining 4 days of our staff. Housekeeping was very good, we didn't eat at the hotel because it was very expensive but you are a couple blocks from the red light district and you can find good places to eat there. I loved this hotel and I loved that the staff spoke english. I will be back once the value of a dollar increase. lol
