Recently stayed here during our Labor Day Weekend trip to DC where we stayed at the Homewood Suites. There were 8 of us, so I got 2 suites, and the front desk was nice enough to accommodate my request to have the rooms next to each other. First off, parking at check-in is EXTREMELY tight! We had to practically park on the sidewalk. Also, the hotel parking garage was full by 5PM, so we had to park at another hotel parking garage down the street. Major inconvenience, especially traveling with a bunch of small children. Most definitely had to deduct some points for that! The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were nice. Perfect for families. The adults can watch what they want in the bedrooms, while the kids can watch their own shows in the living room. Major advantage in having 2 tv's. The furniture, namely the pull-out sofa, and chair were rather WORN OUT. Obviously, as you had previously stated, you're planning on doing a much needed furniture UPGRADE in the Fall. I'll have to see how it is then! Another issue I had was that air conditioner. Holy cow! When that thing turns on abruptly in the middle of the night, it's so loud, it sounds like an intruder is suddenly breaking into your room! Wow! And lastly, but certainly not least, the hotel's WI-FI was virtually useless. At night, you simply cannot log-on. Seems the only time the WI-FI is available is early in the morning. Breakfast buffet was good. The kids appreciate the hot offerings. Thankfully, we were downstairs by 7:15AM, just after they open at 7. By 8:00AM, it gets really crowded. By 8:30AM, forget finding a seat! Moral of the story, go close to the buffet's opening. Overall, solid hotel with a few minor gripes. Not REAL close to the Smithsonian Museums, but if the weather is nice, it makes for a great walk. Wear your walking shoes! Choose COMFORT over VANITY! You'll regret it if you choose the latter! Again, if you're traveling with kids, this might just do the trick! Cheers!

The hotel was well located, and very friendly, it was perfect for what we wanted to do. We were doing a quick discover Washington tour with my family from abroad that were tight on budget so it was great that not only the rooms were not to expensive, but we had breakfast and dinner included with wine and beer !!!! The only "but" was that even if we has a "suite" the living room kitchen area didn't have a bathroom, so when u are 3 adults and 2 kids .. It takes some planning, to be able to get out to go see the sites !!! I would definitively stay there again...

All in all a very nice "home away from home". One big drawback, if you like to work out, this is not the hotel for you! Very small poor quality work out room (more like a closet than a room).

We're a family of four who needed three beds. Our suite had a separate bedroom for the kids and a pull out couch for my husband and me. The kitchen area allowed us to have cold drinks, coffee and snacks when we wanted to stay in. The free breakfast was very nice and saved us time and money. The staff was very helpful and receptive to questions and concerns. They even provided a restaurant list to help us wade through the choices after a long day of sightseeing. Good service during a busy tourist season. I would stay at this chain again.

I've stayed at this Homewood Suites and was very pleased each time. It is a convenient location and the price was reasonable. It was really nice to have a breakfast included each day. The staff was very helpful, went above and beyond. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
