We have mixed feelings about our stay: Pros: The hotel is clean with friendly staff. The artrium that you walk through from the lobby is beautiful with a tropical scent. We enjoyed watching the Volcano errupting in the evening (Although you don't have to stay there to see that, anyone that wants to come watch it in the evening can do so). It was great that there were not any time share salesman at this hotel (lots of other hotels have them in the casino and outside in front) and the elevators were very fast, we never had to wait long to get on an elevator, because a section of elevators only went to certain floors and didn't stop at any of the other floors. It was convienient having a tram to go back and forth between the Mirage & Treasure Island, the Sirens of TI show was a good free show. Cons: There is little entertainment at this hotel, there is a outdoor DJ and one night club, it seemed like a place you would need to be dressed up to get into and pay a cover charge. We can't comment on the club because we never went inside. Other hotels have DJs in the casino, bars, performers, dancers that you can see when you walk in and dress casually. (The hotel Paris has dancing girls and a DJ after 9pm, which gives it a fun vibe). We thought that when we booked the hotel that we would be able to enter the Secret Garden to see the lions & dolphins without paying because we were actually guests at the Mirage, but we actually paid $17.50 each to get instead of the $21.50 that non guests would pay. That was dissapointing to us because that is one of the reasons that we booked this hotel and paid more to stay here than some other hotels that we looked into staying at. Although we did enjoy the secret garden. The pool was great but it closed at 8pm, which was also dissapointing. The average cost of a small mixed drink at this hotel is between $9.00 - $15.00, there is no happy hour offered there. Food: First of all there is a Subway, pizza place, Denny's and Chipolte across the street (Some are inside the casino across the street). Those places are very crowded in the evening, so you are faced with either paying way too much for food at the Mirage or blowing 2 hours of your time trying to get a dinner across the street. We did go to the buffet in the Mirage one night, the food was pretty good, but it should be at $33.00 each before the tip. We stopped by the deli one night to buy dinner but decided not to after we saw that a Bolonga sandwich and chips was $18.00 and if you want a soda thats a extra $4.00, so we spent a lot of our time getting food outside of the hotel. It is important to note that if you open the fridge to use it there is a $25.00 per day fee for that. They really want to be sure that you get ripped off on food in the hotel or get ripped off for putting a sub from subway in the fridge for later. The food issue really took away from the enjoyment of our stay. Not only because it was so overpriced but because we did not go to Vegas to have fancy sit down meals and even the fast places were not normally fast because they were crowded with other tourists like us that did not want to spend $22.00 or more per person for a sandwich, chips and a drink. There is a resort fee of $25.00 per night at this hotel, plus tax. We did know this when we booked the trip, but we felt like we were going to get something for our money from that. The only benefit that we received from that was "free" wireless internet use. So I guess I feel like we paid $25.00 a night for internet use basically. In the future we will pay more attention to what type of restaraunts are in the hotel where we are staying, we just want decent food at resonable prices because our focus is more on sight seeing than eating. There seemed to be more to see and do on the end of the strip where MGM Grand is.

  • Loved the stay!

The hotel was old and not much of the casino. The carpet in the room was dirty and old so as the bathroom was old and the ceiling was leaking all night, through the lamp. It was annoying and dangerouse as well. We had to wait a long time to talk to the staff. I wouldn't go back.

  • Beautiful pool....

My first time to Vegas and the Mirage was located in the middle of the strip and was priced a little better than the newer hotels. Very clean easy to get around the facility compared to some of the other hotels. We were with a small party and ate several meals at the Mirage with mixed results with food and service either great or terrible. A $5 ATM fee seemed excessive for people who are throwing money into their gambling machines, $15 dollar drafts and $20 bloody Mary's at the pool also were a bit much this may be the standard for Vegas I don't know?
