  I would not recommend this hotel. It wasn't very nice compared to the website. Its an older hotel. The rooms were decent but old. The elevators were out the 1st day we were there. It was bad for the maid staff without elevators. We checked out after one night. We didn't try the food or bar, they were both empty areas. Was not worth the time or money. I'm trying to be brief. I do not recommend. One out of Five Stars.

  Location is perfect. Water Taxi for the intercoastal right there at the Marine. Hotel clean, friendly and thanks to the travel agency a great rate. Can't beat it, would definitely stay again.

  Started out the trip with a bad experience on the plane from Chicago. When we finally got to the hotel the desk clerk explained that our king size room was unavailable that night. Great start to me and my wife's first "alone" vacation in twelve years. But then we met R the next morning. R basically runs the desk from early morning until probalby 6:00pm. I went down to the desk the next morning (the first full day of our trip) and explained how our room had two double beds instead of a king. R explained that there was nothing he could do until checkout time. So he asked for my cell phone number and said go about your business as usual. When the room is ready he would call, but don't feel like you need to rush back to exchange rooms as soon as I received the call. So around 4:00pm we got the call that the room was available at our convenience, take our time and have fun. We finally got back to the hotel around 6:00pm, met with R and he gave us the keys to our new room with about 20 apologies for the inconvenience. I'm not the type of person that requires compensation when a sincere apology is given....and R was very sincere. Great job. Will definitely stay there again. P.S. The pool area was a ton of fun and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Plus the walk to the bars on A1A is only about 3 to 5 minutes.

  I stayed at the Bahia Mar because of a medical conference and wish I had opted for an alternative hotel and just driven to the conference every morning. The room was dusty, the sheets were pilling and the room was in need of new furniture and fixtures. It was an absolute dump. When I complained to the operator she even agreed with me! Pathetic.

  The location is great, easy access to everything on the south end of the strip. Close to the airpot and the clubs, shops and dining on Las Olas. Although the hotel is older and shows a little 'wear & tear' it is a great value for what they offer. The hotel has Fort Lauderdale Beach in front and the Intracoastal Waterway in the back. You are right at the marina - so if you plan to fish, dive or take a scenic cruise, the location can't be beat. The staff is friendly and responsive, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I stay here frequently when I visit Fort Lauderdale.
