Stayed here from Christmas day to Jan 4 with my husband and 10 yr. old daughter and was not impressed. First, the staff was never friendly and acted as if we were strangers the entire time we were there. The lobby had an old musty smell. Only 2 of the four elevators worked which made for a long wait at times. The room was very small and also smelled old. It was also very warm inside our room and we packed our winter p.j.'s but should have packed summer ones. We ended up with the ac on to keep the room temp comfortable which was something being it was in the 20's outside. The shower never had more than warm water and had mold in the grout and on the shower curtain. When our room was cleaned we were never left with enough towels, coffee cups, glasses or even coffee for the next time we needed them. We would have changed hotels if it had not been the holidays and the fact that we pre-paid for our stay and it was non-refundable. As for the location, 14th street is close to the Metro but that is about it. There is Starbuck's attached to the hotel which would be great but the staff is rude there and it is never open.

  • Too much for parking!

Nice hotel and nice location but $* plus $* tax for daily parking fee is too much. will not choose this hotel again.

We stayed here while touring Washington DC. While we loved, loved, loved the location ( a few blocks from the white house), the rooms were on the small side. I know, its a downtown hotel. But with three boys - it felt a little bit cramped. I probably would not stay here again with my family but would if I was traveling along or with my husband.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the hotel. The first two nights were fine, the last night there was a party in the hotel restaurant which lasted until approximately 4am. We called down around 2am to complain, but were told there was nothing that could be done. Then when we checked out we complained again to the staff at the desk and the manager/supervisor, who said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. The staff person even said that they could not issue a credit on our bill because we prepaid for the room. I later sent a letter to priority club (their frequent traveler program). I received the response that again said they were sorry, but nothing else.

This hotel did not let us down! We are in our 50's, no children on the trip, stayed for one week. Beautifully decorated; the beds were so comfortable; the room was spotless. In spite of the downtown location, it was very quiet and we felt safe. Nice restaurant with outside seating. One block from Metro and several good restaurants. The hotel staff was helpful, polite, and went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. Great experience. We would stay there again.
