02/08/2011Truly a resort experience! beware of restaurant and parking prices, however. i slept like a log and was able to enjoy walking around the hotel, indooors and outdoors.

I was in Miami for the Orange Bowl football game. Had I been staying at the Doral to play golf, then my experience may have been better. But since I wasn't playing golf, there was very little to do at or near the Hotel. I had to take a taxi to Miami Beach/South Beach at $50 a pop in order to go where the action was. Additionally, the rooms were very average. A light outside the room was on all night, and very bright--even with the blinds closed. I finally had to unscrew the light bulb to turn it off so we could sleep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The setting was lovely, the staff very friendly, the room was updated and very nice, the pools were great, golfing was great. We liked the casual restaurant very much. No complaints except limited number of channels on the TV!
