There was so much to like about this Westin starting with a very friendly staff -- with one exception. The room was very comfortable and especially the bed. We felt truly pampered by the room and bath. The staff was great EXCEPT for the concierges who seemed disinterested. Twice I went to them for help -- a restaurant for dinner and information about places to visit on our drive from Seattle to Portland. The concierge asked few questions about our food preferences and seemed totally uninterested. The only information I got about the drive was that we would go through the state capitol. Otherwise a good stay.

I would not recommend the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle to anyone. The location is good but the rooms are small and expensive. This hotel charges for every amenity offered to its customers: $9.95 per day for internet in the hotel room ( Its free in the lobby); coffee is free until 6:00 am each morning then it is taken up and may be purchased in the lobby bar area along with other breakfast items. There is a charge of $1.64 for every local phone call placed from your room. You can print your boarding passes for free after you pay $7.95 an hour to use their computer, printer and internet. Now I have noticed that there is an additional $12.40 that has been placed on my credit card after we checked out. I worry this hotel must be financial trouble because why else would they have to place a fee on every amenity? The hotel staff was mediocre in the area of customer service.
