The hotel was supposed to be non smoking, when we got to our room it smelled like cigarette smoke and the comfortor had what looked like a cigarette burn on it. They did change our room but then our key wouldn't work and we had to go to the lobby 3 times to finally get it to work. We could hear noises from the street eventhough we were 27 floors above the ground. It was a great location and had a lot to offer as far as amenities but the room itself was average and not very impressive.

Great place to stay. Love the layout of the hotel and the rooms are very nice and comfortable, amazing views from the higher levels and my stay was great. The lobby is amazing with a classy bar located in the center and surrounded by fountains and friendly staff. Elevators that have been in two different movies such as "True Lies" with Arnold Swarchenager (Very Cool). I will be back. In a convenient location and was near everything. Also plenty of food locations located on the hotel premisses as well as a mini store for snacks and any other simple goods you may need. Local shopping is a quick cab or walk from the hotel with everything you need with in a few mile radius. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and to any traveler. This place is a must stay if your looking for a great hotel in downtown LA.

It's the Westin Bonaventure. The rooms are nice -- the strange 80's-era lobby/atrium is pretty out there. It's downtown LA so everything is ridiculously expensive. Restaurants in the hotel were mediocre-to-terrible, but cheaper than most of the surrounding area. Oh well, it's LA I guess.

The hotel itself was very nice. However, the staff, specifically the check in and concierge were terrible. I was in town to see a concert and I asked the check in person if he knew how far the Wiltern was from the hotel. He said "the theater?", I said yes, and he says "no". And that was that. I notice the concierge and ask him. He says its 40 minutes away. This makes me super nervous because I know I have to take a cab there. I then ask if the hotel has any shuttles to any tourist spots. He says no. And I ask again--this seems strange--this was my first hotel w/no shuttles--anywhere. Then I find out why. He gives me a list of tours that they do--and the charges for each. I wasn't thrilled. Anyway, we took a cab to the theater--it was less than 15 minutes away. We cabbed and walked where we could. If it wasn't for the valets--the guys who have to earn their money---I wouldnt have a single nice thing to say about the staff. We were very disappointed.
