this is a well-maintained, older hotel. That means a tiny bathroom, but potentially bigger room area. our room had two closets and a kitchenette, which would be handy for someone staying longer and wanting to eat in. airconditioning not very functional, so the room was warm, but the window open so you can cool it off. It is probably fine in colder weather than we had. The location is handy for carnegie hall, theater district and the southern end of Central Park. very close to subway. It IS the kind of place you might worry about bedbugs, but we saw no evidence of them and the mattress appeared to be new. All in all, it was a good value given the location and price.

Location, location, location. The Wellington is in the same block with Carnegie Hall and New York City Center, an easy walk to either Lincoln Center or the Broadway theaters, close to Central Park and on a subway station with several trains. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but clean. I was surprised to find no in room safe, although valuables can be put in safes at the desk. The front desk is busy, but the information desk and bell hops were always available and friendly. Internet connection either in the room or at the business center in the lobby is fairly expensive. A couple of cafes nearby offer internet connection at no charge if you have your own lap top. This hotel is frequently sold out, and its cancellation policy quite fair. I hope to stay there again and would certainly recommend it to my friends.

Excellent, convenient location. You can walk to the theater, MOMA, Carnegie Hall and even Lincoln Center if the weather is nice (about 10 blocks). Older proiperty, but very carefully maintained and clean. Very large hotel that accepts bus tours. Twenty-seven floors high, and getting to your room can take a five-minute wait or longer for an elevator at busy times. They charge for internet access, a disappointment. Coffee shop on premises is very busy and noisy especially at breakfast, but the staff is very friendly and accomodating, and the food is good, honest and fresh, but not fancy. Heat pump under window provides heat and air conditioning; they are old noisy clunkers and should be replaced.

THe front door staff was very helpful. The office staff was very helpful and informed us the manamgment upgraded us to a king size bed, at no cost. The room is just the right size. Your in Manhattan, why would you stay in room anyways, even on your honeymoon. The bathroom is kind of small but your not in a spa. the room was clean. Great stay.

We stayed at the Wellington in September 2010 and found it to be the perfect location! The hotel was clean, nice, well appointed, and had a prime location. It has 3 subway stops within a block. We were a able to see Times Square out our window on the 24th floor. It was located next door to Carnegie Hall and between Central Park and Times Square. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.
