A few things to note... For Wi-fi service you have to pay $* which would be fine except the Internet is extremely slow. The rooms are very nice looking but the floor is painted white and scratches easily I stayed in a city view room. I wheeled my suitcase in and scuffed the floor immediately. In the room they have items that you can purchase. For my taste, I think its tacky and very commercial to sell things to your patrons in their room. The breakfast menu is extremely pricey, $* for 2 eggs, etc. To rent an umbrella on the beach its $*, to rent a cabana on the beach its $*

The Delano was a very beautifull hotel, the majorty of the staff were nice, very helpfull. The conscierge and the front desk were really accomodating. The rooms are small and nothing to write home about. Our room had mold in the shower, and we spoke with the front desk and they upgraded us immediately and had someone come up and take our bags right away. So they fixed it right away and were pleasant about it. The pool staff is another story. They are arrogant and condescending. You have to tip tip tip and even then, they act like they are doing you a favor. What's more, my wife, who was 5 months pregnant had to argue with them to get a poolside chair, and people are constantly approaching you to see your card and making you feel like your are tresspassing. So we basically just went to the beach to avoid the hassle. If you go to the hotel, here's the main thing to do. Give the main valet guy a tip of 20$ when you get there and he'll take good care of you. He can make things happen!!

I frequently visit South Beach in the Winter/Spring, and have had the opportunity to stay at a few different hotels. I recently revisited the Delano, where I had stayed a few years back, and was pleasantly reminded how fabulous this hotel really is! I checked into my room and was disappointed that I had a very loud couple staying next to me. When I called down to complain, the front desk was happy to accomodate me, and upgraded me to an ocean front room! I loved the ambiance and the crowd of people there too. The pool bartenders are very friendly (and cute), and the two people who work the door at the front were amazingly friendly and full of suggestions for nightlife. Funny thing is, as soon as I left the place I was having drinks at and headed back to the hotel, I found that there was no need to leave the hotel at all! (which is what I was told)... better crowd at the Delano! I will definitely be staying at the Delano the next time I travel back to South Beach... it's and Oldey (for Sobe), but Goodey!!!

THE STAFF!!! They seems to think THEY are "The Guest" and you, the "Real Guest" are somebody that disturb them... Especially at the pool and at the bar. Staff are good looking but not professionnal. Kind of, they are disapopinted if you dont give a $* tip for one drink at the bar and make you feel cheap..
It's a beautifull hotel by STARCK but now this hotel need a refresh and breif the STAFF that they are not Philippe Starck!!!
Very bad feeling during the stay at $* a night for a small room. No real class, arrogant!
