Apparently recently renovated. Common areas and rooms looked great! Very comfortable and well appointed. Rooms are really small (with common hallway restrooms and showers) but very well laid out. Relatively quiet for a downtown hotel. However, there is a "car exiting" warning device outside the building associated with the garage behind the hotel. It goes off constantly. If this is an issue, be sure to stay away from rooms near the north side of the building.

We went with the shared bath so we were expecting efficiency accommodations. This is what we got, but we survived and it was better than I anticipated. Really the worst part was the shower as it needed a major update at least on level 7. If you go with efficiency, bring shower shoes! The bed itself was comfortable, there was a sink in our room and we only had to wait for the shower once in two nights (two people staying in the room). All things considered, if we ever were in SFO and not staying with friends, we might be back, but this time with shower shoes.

My third stay at The Mosser and I'll be back. Great value, service, and perfect location. I had emailed the staff a week early to request a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor to make it more convenient to use the stairway. I was advised to contact the desk just prior to my arrival to check on availability. I arrived around 11AM expecting to just check with the desk and leave my bag with the concierge and then check in later. The desk clerk had my request information available and allowed me to check in early with the room location I wanted. Totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated. And love the muffins and coffee.

Room was extremely small. Staff were helpful and did store our excess baggage. We didn't like sharing a bathroom but they were clean. It's very centrally located and accessible to public transport and resturaunts and theartes etc. Suit weekend stayers and young people.
