The location was excellent in the heart of everything, with great access to the bus lines and shopping. The Tiki bar and Duke's both had great food. However, we found that we loved the food and drinks at The Shorebird in the Outrigger Reef the best. I highly reccommend the Lava Flow drinks at the Shorebird!!!! The beach was great with multiple points of access to and from. The deli that is near the laundry and pool area is great for snacks and such during the day. Things can be crowded on the beach, but it was a great place to watch the sunset with awesome pictures and memories to bring back to MN. The activities person (X) was phenomenal with recommendations and getting things set up for us. The room was good, very clean and spacious as was the rest of the Outrigger. The only complaint that we have about the Outrigger is that the walls are very thin (you can hear what people are saying or if the T.V. is on low). We could hear everything that was going on in our neighbor's room and after 1.5 hours of them yelling at their kids we called the front desk and within 5 minutes had a quiet rest of the night. When we go back we will stay here again and can't wait!!!

Outrigger Waikiki on the beach is awesome! We upgraded our "oceanview" room to "OceanFront" on the 5th floor just above the palm trees. What a view! Diamond Head to out left and the beach right in front....close enough to hear the wonderful relaxing sound of the waves coming onshore.
The room was cleaned every morning and beds turned down every night. Staff are quite friendly and hotel is just wonderful. We had breakfast at Dukes every day, exceptional food pretty reasonbly priced and located on the first floor of the hotel with view and access to the beach. Our flight/hotel package included free breakfast which we had at Dukes, a wonderful breakfast buffet.
For a night cap you can go to Dukes bar of upstairs to the Huka Grill for an after dinner drink.
Hotel is rated 4 star, but as far as I am concerned they earned a 5 on our stay! Bell services were excellent in getting us transportation, be it cab service or airport shuttle service.
I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say about the Outrigger, it was our first stay there as well as first trip to Hawaii and it was simply awesome! -

Staff was good, access to the hotel rooms was limited only to hotel guests. elevators required a guest card to activate them which was nice.
Room/maid service was good and they were helpful and friendly.
Dukes and Hula Grill in the hotel were very good and prices were reasonable.
The jacuzzi is located where the bar is and closes at about 3:00 PM daily.....since I am a runner and worked out, I didn't like the limited use times.
The fitness center had new lifting machines, plenty of treadmills and cycles with one TV. No free weights were available and room was crowded with machines but you could exercise every muscle group.
I also enjoy sitting in the jacuzzi at night with a beer, which was not possible at this hotel. No sauna either, pool was small, but when you have the beach right in front of you......who needs the pool!
When leaving hawaii, make sure to have enough time for traffic and getting through the Agriculture Inspection which was an additional step prior to passing security or getting bags checked in to the airline. -

The hotel is in a great location. Very close to all kinds of shopping, beach, Zoo, park, and public transportation. We were very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff from the initial greeting and check in and throughout the rest of our stay. The bell staff was very helpful in holding our luggage after we checked out, until we were ready to leave on our late flight. The room was very nice, although the bathroom is a bit small. Even though our room was listed as city view, we had a good partial view of the ocean from our deck. It seems as though the majority of the rooms are oriented for a partial ocean view, however there are some rooms that do not.
The three on-site restaurants are very nice and have balconies open to the ocean. We enjoyed some good live music on several occasions. One morning my wife and both got a kick out of taking a ukulele lesson in the hotel lobby.
We would definately consider returning to this hotel, and I recommend it to anyone wanting a true Waikiki experience. -

OW was recommended by my brother who stayed and always stays at OW on the Beach. Easy access to the beach which my boys loved! The OW staff was very friendly, the bell hops, let the front desk assistance know we were on the way up to the lobby, we were greated by our first name. It was very nice as it was our first time. Rooms are very clean, nice and our view of the beach was awesome! We are definitely coming back for another stay!. Highly recommended!!!
