Important Hotel Information
- A credit card is required to be authorized for a 75 per night deposit for incidentals. Cash is not accepted at check-in, however the property will accept cash upon check out.
- We will be embarking on a complete lobby transformation beginning in early December which is scheduled to be completed in the spring. There is the possibility that guests may experience temporary disruptions during their stay. However, we will do everything we can to limit any inconvenience.
- Please bear with us during our enhancements. We are improving our property to serve you better.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and contained a coffee maker, small refrigerator, and of course, a TV. My husband and I were traveling for leisure, so those items were enough for us. The hotel provides transit information and is close to bus stops and a short walk to the "L". We will definitely stay at the Essex Inn the next time we go to Chicago.

Although I paid more than I wanted to, this hotel is still a bargain in downtown Chicago. Very nice view out my 15th floor room--the hotel is across from Grant Park. No problems with check-in and out -- efficient and friendly front desk staff and help checking luggage to pick up later in the afternoon after checking out of the room. While not luxurious, the room was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

We traveled as a family for four nights. the staff was friendly and helpful. There were a few disappointing things-first, they have a posted (not on the website) no cooler policy. that was very annoying and they had a really odd explaination of coolers ruining rugs? Rooms were very small but comparable for Chicago area. The pool and rooftop seating were GREAT! The rooms are NOT soundproof at all so if you like your sleep stay away. We'd probably stay again.

Everything was good. One of the elevators was not working and it took awhile to get one. It was fixed by the next day. The refrigerator was a little warm. There were no settings to increase the temp. Kept our stuff cool but not cold.
