The hotel is at the northern end of the strip and so a couple of miles from the heart of the strip. It's a short walk to downtown, however, and I had a ticket to see Dan Hicks at the Historic 5th St. School, so it was a good location for me. I also walked to Palazzo for a show, about two miles, and that was fine with me. Most of the street action starts at Palazzo and continues south.

For the money, I couldn't beat this hotel. Dirt cheap rates with good central location. If you want to be in the "heart" of The Strip, this may not be the hotel for you. But if you want a good centrally located hotel between The Strip and Freemont Street, this is it. It's clean and well maintained but it's not one of the "happening" hotels like Ceasar's, Bellagio, Flamingo, etc. We only needed the room to sleep and shower and it met our needs for that. USE THE BUS TO GET AROUND! I paid $20 for a 3-day bus pass and rode the bus everywhere. Or, you can walk if you need to burn some calories. The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars) is only a short walk North of the hotel. The view from the Tower is awesome and although my room didn't have a view of The Strip, it did have a nice view of the mountains in the distance.
