Pros: Hotel situated just next to the beach Nice pool. Very nice looking lobby. Cons: Beach area very small, especially at high tide. Many things not working, including our TV(was fixed quickly), the alarm clock, the pop machine, the beach elevator. Beds very saggy in the middle. room very small, and without use of balcony(which I knew may be under renovation) was almost claustrophobic to be in, very dark. (granted, it was a gloomy day) . The room itself has peeling paint on the closet. nowhere really to put much luggage, and only one very small towel rack to hang towels,not even for a hand towel. the sink area very small, could hold a few toothbrushes. . no clothesline for swim suits, we had them hanging on every chair. Arcade money changer ate my kids money, and he couldn't refund it until the next morning. We checked out after one night of just everything not working! Internet was hit or miss.

We only stayed one night here on our way to Key Largo. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. We were only there one night but Michelle, who worked at the pool bar and also served breakfast the next day, was fantastic. She shared the name of a GREAT authentic Greek restaurant. We walked to the Taverna Greek Island per her advice. The Lamb chops were so good we stopped again on our way back from Key Largo for lunch a week later. If you are looking for a clean place to stay at a reasonable price, I recommend Ocean Sky. Although we could have blown much more money at a 5 star hotel, this fit our bill perfectly. We loved the ocean view and the proximity to the beach. Very convenient.

We stayed at this hotel following our cruise as a place to wind down, the location is very nice. Our issues started right at check in -when we asked for early check-in if possible, and were bluntly told rooms would not be available until 3 so we patiently waited, and waited and waited.... one room was available at 3:15 and the others became available after 4pm and one of them not until after 5pm. The staff couldn't care less and barely offered an apology. Food and Drinks at this place are outrageously priced, you are much better off walking down the beach 25 yards to the adjacent hotel's tiki bar for much better service and prices. Although the pool was lovely and offered plenty of seating in the sun, Shade wasn't available unless you PAID for it, they wanted $35 for pool side covered lounge chairs or $20 for the ones under an awning hanging off the hotel... Valet parking was like playing hide and seek on several occasions, they were there some of the time and at other times were mysteriously missing. They offered Handicapped parking however valet used the slots to park prefered customers cars in the slots regardless of any eligibility... Valet is not 24 hours, and since my father in-law is handicapped and can't walk far, he's lucky we were with him to retrive his car when we couldn't find the valet... There is Jackhammer type construction going on at the resort adjacent to this hotel on all levels that starts early in the morning and goes till around 5pm, no mention of that was included in my reservation confirmation nor was there any type of compensation. Just to be fair, at least the manger gave us a late check out after we complained signficantly to his staff when they wanted to charge us extra... IF they change the mangement and hire some staff who can smile and make small little accomodations, stop charging 5 star prices for drinks and food then maybe this would be a place to stay...

All things considered we had a pleasant stay.There was construction work going on while we were there and the pool was closed for cleaning but those issues were probably poor timing on our part because our trip was during the off season. The hotel management was very sympathetic and and offered us free accomodations if we return. The hotel has a large beach which more than made up for the pool being shut down. The tiki bar was great and it was a short cab ride to Hollywood Beach and the nightlife. We will be happy to go back....with a little better timing.
