The hotel is in a perfect location for all Magnificent Mile adventures. Like other city hotels of its age, the room was small and very well kept. Small rooms are what I like because I don't want to spend money on square footage I will only be awake for about an hour per day. Chicago has great public transportation, so this location works for non-drivers. I counted 277,219,915 places to eat within my walking radius. Great value, great location and I endorse the Allerton without reservation. (You should make a reservation.)

We had great service during our one night stay. The hotel had great character and was still modern. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay at the Allerton anytime we go to Chicago!

The rooms are small, and the elevators are extremely small and slow. The location is excellent - right in the middle of the Magnificent Mile, easy access to L. Very tastefully decorated. Coffee in lobby, or even a simple "hello" as you walked through the lobby would have been a nice touch. Good price, comfortable, excellent locations, but no extras whatsoever.

The rooms are small and that is the tradeoff for the price in such a great location which is in walking distance to most anywhere you would want to go downtown. It was also very clean and there was a nice bar/restaurant area on first floor to visit with friends and family. I would stay here again given that I am on a budget.

Everything ended good even though in the beginning they checked us in a little room that was connected to a storage room and then frontdesk ly'd and said no other room was available then with a little more complaining and security vouching that the room was unsafe they moved us to a better room
