  The hotel is well used but has not been updated in a while I would guess. It's a bit shabby in places. The location and price were perfect. Walk to 30rock and UN in under 10 min, Times Square in about 20. Plenty of restaurants and felt safe walking. Starbucks a block away at Lex along with subway access. If you just need a crash pad to explore the city this should do. The jr suite had 2 qns and sofa bed and fit 2 adults and 3 kids age 9-17 just fine. Parking is valet and if your not going in/out might find cheaper nearby.

  We stayed in this hotel in late November 2012. The doormen greeted us at the door with a big smile and said, "Welcome home!" The room was outfitted with a king-sized bed and European-style modern furniture. A second floor lounge for guests offered free coffee for most of the day and free internet access. The location is unbeatable; the hotel is only a 10-minute walk from Rockefeller Center and all the stores on Fifth Avenue. Valet parking was $50 extra per day (to be expected in midtown Manhattan). The only real drawback was that we had to pay extra ($14.00 per day) to get internet access in the room.

  We just returned home from a fabulous stay in NYC with our family. We were very happy with the accommidations at Affinia 50.. even got a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom (very spacious) suite! The hotel is within walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Central Park and 5th Ave. The staff made us feel so welcome ..Izzy and the front desk staff were amazing.. would definitely stay there again!
