Returned to the hotel 25 years after our honeymoon. We thought it would be nice to stay there again. Checked in on Friday night. Went to the bar and grill on the resort, a little expensive for what you get. Got back to room late. Details on the room: The secondary lock on the door didn't work. Room refrigerator hummed all night. Dirty washcloth left in bathroom. No water pressure in shower. Water was up to ankles by the time show was finished. Killed at least 6 spiders in room. Needless to say we did not sleep at all. Next morning we went to the front desk and we were upgraded for our final night. Much nicer room. The staff was extremely nice and apologetic for the first room, but even if the room was perfect it would have been a little overpriced. The resort is extremely nice, buy the rooms leave a lot to be desired.

There are some things that aren't 100% fabulous about his hotel (there is a smell in the room, but only because you are at the beach and the room gets stuffy...turn on air and open the window and it's gone), but the good outweighs the bad. It was perfect for our family.

Upon arriving, the staff was very obliging to give me a room right on the beach. This hotel was very well keep. All of the furnishing in the standard room were updated to a modern style and the beds were quite comfortable. The environment was very quite and serene which made for a very relaxing stay. There are multiple fire pits located all across the beach on the hotel property and can be used without charge. There are at least 7 pools around the property, including and adults only pool. This ensures that there is always an uncrowded pool. The food at the on site restaurants are pretty good, but a bit expensive for the overall quality. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants close by. It requires about a 10 minute drive to find shops and restaurants. Another negative about this hotel is that the usual amenities included at an average hotel are not included here: internet access, workout facility access and parking. The hotel charges about $25-$28 per night for parking while and additional $15 a night are tacked that are called some like the "All Access Pass" that, when paid, include unlimited internet access along with gym access and recreation center access. The recreation center (tennis courts, table tennis, croquet, etc.) is in okay condition, but doesn't seem to be on the top of the hotel's like to maintain.

After looking at their web sight I was excited to go, upon arriving I was even more excited as we pulled into the property, grounds are great and very tropical and well maintained. Once you enter the lobby you begin questioning your choice. Front desk staff was excellent. Be prepared for extra charged 25$ night to park, 15-25 a day to use the sight amenaties (not optional). Buildings are obviously older and it looks as if any remodel work was limited to paint and fixtures. Has the odor of a older classic hotel without the charm. Our first room was terrible, one wall was composed of large sliding room dividers leading me to believe it use to be something other than a hotel room, with awkward floor plan and furnishings, and it was the executive suite. We had no privacy as we backed onto a courtyard filled with kids next to a convention center. We asked to be moved and we were accomodated immediately to a much more private location. Furnishings were old and random as if purchased second hand, nothing like what was on their web sight. If you plan on using the sofa sleeper don't plan on sleeping, it was terrible. If you have a family this is the place to go, endless amenities, sand beaches, boats, pools, I wish I had known of this place when my kids were small. Restaurant prices high so we did not eat there but overall service was good. If you are an adult looking for a getaway call in advance and get a bay view room as 80% of the roomd have no view other than a hedge or a courtyard, the bay views are incredible. Overall the is a good property that has not been upgraded from the 70's, service was good, grounds are great, location is central to everything and a great place for families. Interiors disappointing and cheap for adults expecting a high end resort experience.
