This was my first trip to the island, but have stayed in Hyatts before. My expectations were met with the usual high standards of the Hyatt Hotels. We had breathtaking views of the ocean, Waikiki beach and the ""First Lady Of Waikiki"" Moana Surfrider Hotel across the street. The open air atrium lobby was spectacular with its lush tropical flowers, palm trees and multiple waterfalls. Guest check-in was quick and courteous. The concierge was very helpful in planning activities for Germaine's Luau or driving diections to wherever we required. Each morning at the Terrace Grille, we were greeted by a delectable breakfast buffet consisting of various breakfast foods including different filled blintzes, daily variations of Eggs Benedict and made to order eggs, omlettes and waffles. The hotel's location is ideal for shopping at the International Marketplace a few steps away or the varied restaurants in and around the Hyatt. There are also many diverse shopping boutiques within the lower levels of the hotel. In my experience, the staff geniunely seemed to care about our every needs, comfort and rendered courteous, friendly service.

We have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki two years in a row and plan on our third in November 2009! The hotel is beautiful and close to everything. We feel it is our home home away from home. The hotel staff is wonderful. Every one is down to earth and there are no snobs, as we aren't into that atmosphere. The rooms are very clean, roomy and the decor is lovely. The breakfast buffet is delicous, and if you can sit out side as there is a beautiful view of the ocean. The elegant Dive Bar has live music every night and it's a great place to relax and have a coctail. We really feel like a king and queen during ou entire stay. If you want to be pampered they have a very nice spa to melt your wories away. It's always hard for us to leave, however we know we will be back.

Massage especially nice. Breakfast staff excellent: food well prepared, wait staff extremely congenial. When we had an electrical emergency, wait staff allowed us to play cards rather than to walk 36 floors to our room. Music played publicly at the morning serving was very soothing: Xmas music was most welcome and the performers selected were wonderful to hear. For a location that caters to the young, this locale did wonderfully for two old guys also. The place is expensive but worth it. The parking is an extra perk: though expensive, it's so convenient. I'd love to come back.

Great hotel. I would recommend it to everyone. I was there for my honeymoon this December, it was great. We had booked for a partial ocean view and they upgraded us to full ocean view and gave us a bottle of bubbly. Great location walking distance from shopping, the beach is right in front. Will recommend to everyone visiting Waikiki.

The Yay's: Nice size rooms. VERY COMFY BEDS. Clean. Friendly staff. (But it should be for what they are charging!) The Nay's: The pool is the size of your common backyard pool, with very few lounge chairs...and that's it. It's up on the third floor bordered by restaurants. It did not have the tropical, lush feel that pool areas at resorts have. It felt uncomfortable and out of place. The hotel's description says it overlooks Waikiki beach...I guess it's my fault that I didn't take that verbatim, meaning it is not ON the beach - you have to cross the street to go to the beach but the description mentions nothing of the sort. We booked the Sunshine on Sale pkg that includes daily buffet breakfast. This was great on the first day. The problem is that the buffet items don't change, so for six days it was all the same options (and few options at that).
