  Great location for a first trip to SF and quality hotel. The staff was superb and the hotel was beyond nice. Definitely check out the Top of the Mark bar on the top floor - a real gem. The only downside was the charge for internet - should be a freebie given it's almost 2012. Otherwise, great experience!

  I'm very pleased with our stay on a recent trip into San Francisco. I know the neighborhood well but had never stayed here and am very glad we decided to give it a try. It's in a great location - walking distance from Union Square and a short cab ride to the North Beach/Fisherman's Wharf area. The room offered everything we needed (and then some, with a generously stocked mini-bar) and had a beautiful view from the 11th floor. The only con for me was the very soft bed. Personally I prefer a firmer mattress, but I know many others wouldn't mind it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again.

  This hotel is located along the trolley line so it is convenient to all attractions, restuarants, etc. Parking is expensive so if you don't need a car I would use public transportation if at all possible. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

  If you want to be in a pretty neighborhood with a lovely view, and near tourist attractions like Chinatown, the Embarcadero, and Union Square, the Hopkins is a fine choice. The rooms are small but elegant and pleasant, higher floors are quiet and can have good views, and the staff is helpful and friendly.

  Loved, loved, loved this hotel. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Only thing missing is a little coffee shop to pick up a quick cup of coffee and muffin in the morning. $35 breakfast buffet not for me!
