Not to be a snob, but as an attorney I get to stay in a lot of very respectable places. This was not one of them. I was visiting a firm almost right across the street for a couple of days and it was almost a comedy of errors. My check in was delayed because there wasn't a room available and once there was a room it stunk like cigarette smoke(the worst) so I called down to the front desk and they told me to come down and get reassigned(there was no bellman available at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday to bring me a new key. The new room was on a different floor and didn't have the cigarette smell but definitely was a moldy smell in the room and I brought that to housekeeping's attention and they sent someone(who didn't speak english) to my room to spray air freshener!! Linens were very dated in color and design. Wanted to go for a run and it was extremely hot and humid outside, so I figured I'd settle on a treadmill. Got to the "gym" and THE treadmill was broken. 10 x 10 room with four pieces of equipment is what they call a gym. Can you say misrepresentation? Went to the bar one evening with a colleague, which I have to say was relaxing, except to have to listen to the bartender and one of the waitresses complaining for 30 minutes about their boss. For the money it just was not a good value.

I appreciate a good bed. I travel a ton so when I get into bed I'm usually appreciative in being enveloped in the comfort of nice fabric and softness. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. The most uncomfortable bed that I've ever slept in. I don't know if the mattress' there are just old or what, but by far the worst night of sleep that I've had this year(with over 50 night this years spent in hotels. My check-in was the start of a bad experience. The front desk is very tiny(literally a desk) so not many workers can check-in at one time, thus if you get a couple people arriving at the same time off of an airport shuttle(like me) your wait will be extensive. My dinner in the hotel restaurant was hotel food...enough said and certainly nothing to make you want to return to the restaurant. Even the coffee was bad(but luckily there is a starbucks not too far away.

Due to an airline delay I arrived at my hotel a block away and was placed here. In town for work. I entered that headline only because even though something may appear one way, it still is what it is beneath the many layers. The hotel is in disrepair. You can tell hallways/woodwork and rooms have received many layers of paint over the years but that doesn't necessarily make it a clean place. Dirty hallways, stairwells were disgusting. My room smelled of mold/mildew and when I complained, they brought up and sprayed air freshener...again, covering up a problem and not resolving it.
I tried to use the "gym" and one of the three pieces of equipment that were working, broke while I was using it. Staff poorly trained and food, for the price, was subpar...rarely greeted except for a great doorman.

It is a nice hotel. Yes, there is a refrigerator, inside the desk (another reviewer said there was none). The bed and room were extremely comfortable. There is a buffet breakfast downstairs. The gym is tiny and embarassing, but the hotel is near some lovely jogging paths (you can run to the zoo for example). My only problem was that wake up calls either didn't come or came at the wrong time. They can fix that. I would stay here again without hesitation.
